I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
So I've been driving my sisters cherokee and I have realized over the past couple days, that it really needs a turbo.
So what do you think? A little HMT action. The motor has awesome specs. Only 12 valve, which kinda sucks, but still... Description: in-line six, overhead valve (two per cylinder), flat-face followers, hydraulic lifters, cast iron block and head Displacement: 3960 cc (242 cubic inches) Bore and stroke 98.4 mm x 86.7 mm Compression ratio 8.8:1 Redline: 5,300 rpm Iron Block and head, and 8.8:1, yeah! I think that would spin a t3 nicely. And from what I hear it also takes mustang gt injectors direct fit. Here's the jeep in mind. http://www.centerlinemotorsports.com...erry/vaca4.jpg My sister might not like the idea tho, maybe I could talk the bro in law into it on his Comanche. Here's a pic of that. http://www.centerlinemotorsports.com...llenge2003.jpg |

http://www.centerlinemotorsports.com.../cherokee1.jpg http://www.centerlinemotorsports.com...ry/whitexj.jpg Her husband has always been in the off-road scene, and is actually now competing in Salt Lake City as we speak. I'd post pics of the rock buggy, but Larry is in the process of re-doing his website so I can't find ---- on it right now. |
Re:I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
I've had a Cherokee before...but I sold it. Now I'm always thinking about how much fun it would be if it had a turbo...
I say do it. |

Re:I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
Might be just me.. but pics dont work anymore :-\
Use newbieforces 8) I'd say get the V8 Jeep and turbo it :P |
Re:I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
I dont think a turbo woud be worth a ---- for rock crawling but I could be wrong :-\
|
Re:I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
i dont see why it wouldnt be useful for rock crawling... im thinking that 2x .42/.48 T3s would be an ideal setup... anybody else?

Walker Evans, the old baja superstar, competes in the UROC events that my bro-in-law is competing in right now, and his buggy has a ecotec 4 cylinder turbo in it and the way the power comes in is shitty. He rolls all the time. He's not very good at rock crawling anyways, and he's an egotistical old -------. Doesn't step down from his high horse to talk to anyone. His wife is a nice lady tho. |

My friend has a Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0 'high-output' inline-6.
Home made log manifold, don't remember what kind of turbo it was, large frontmount intercooler, FMU and a piggyback ECU with supplemental injectors. It ran a best of 14.9 seconds last summer. |

We own centerlinemotorsports.com, its my brother in laws side business. As for the turbo and rock crawling, I'd probably agree it'd be no good. Power in a rock crawler really needs to be down low. Re:I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
I think for the stuff my bro in law does, the stock motor will suit him fine, but for mine, with the highway towing, i think a turbo would rock it.

Why is NASA bothering with crappy wheeled robots to explore ----. Cause looking at those 4x4 axle-snapping action shots, we only have to send your family and their cars to Mars... |

Re:I think my sisters jeep needs boost w/pics
------- awesome. I love those Jeeps. There is one down the street from me with a sick ass suspension setup. It just sits on the side of the guys house with a trailer hooked up to it. ???
I've seen some in Glamis all done up with paddles on all 4 rims. No hill can stop them. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
