I think I'm comming back to honda
 

I need a reliable (yet fun to drive) daily driver, so I think I'm comming back. Maybe a DC, maybe an EG, I don't know.

My nissan sure can't ------- do it. It has cost me in excess of $150/week in repairs to keep it running for the past 2 months, and it has only run for 2 weeks out of that time. I haven't even had a chance to beat on it or do any modifications that would cause it to break. Just random ---- keeps ------- up, it's worse than a god damn DSM. Probably the worst part of this, it all started with some preventative maintanence. I replaced the timing chain thinking that maybe if I was extra nice to it, it would be nice back. Right after that it fucked me over.

it's a 240sx, and i'm a nissan factory tech. I don't have problems when I work on other people's cars, just mine.

That's funny right there, and you are a Nissan Tech, I would hate to think of anyone that has no clue of what they are doing. Listen, being an old car, and not a Honda :-*, ---- will go wrong. If you really like it, take your time and get it all fixed up, I'm sure problems will end eventually, well it might take some $$$, but it can happen.

If not just get a honda. I'm sure you can get some good money now for the 240 with all the people wanting them and the F&F 3 coming out soon. :-X :-X

It is definitly random stuff.

put in the (aftermarket) timing chain, marks are off so i pull the engine replace all the seals and fix the timing, head gasket blows 400 miles later. replace the headgasket, radiator blows 300 miles later, new radiator is defective, install replacement and now the thermostat (replaced when the engine was out) won't open. I may have got that fixed...after 4 hours of bleeding the system.

I'm telling you it all sounds like maintenance age problems. Just get all the bugs out and you'll have a decent car. Unless it is all fucked up inside and out, then just get rid of the money pit. If it is in good condition get it all fixed up.
