I like all bearings right at .0015. Bearings .0010 seems too tight, and .0020 seems as loose as you would want to be.

Yeah but if i'm within .001 I should be fine, Oh well, I'm not going to bother with this engine now, I'm concentrating on repainting my car and body work and such, after that i'll be swapping in the LS hopefully.

my friend who blew his engine twice go this crank machined w/ oversized bearings and stock rods; they machined it all in spec; plastigague was dead on; oil level was good; motor lasted 1200mi before going

the ONLY thing i can guess killed that motor was under-torqued fasteners on that one piston. The rod bolts must have stretched ever so slightly under power and caused an oil problem; then bam spun bearing.
Some random machine shop guy that rebuilt tractor motors pulled some torque specs out of his ass and my friend went with them. totally ignoring the honda FSM... ------- idiot

Yeah, but in my case everything was done according to the Honda Factory Service manual, I even double checked the Integra LS manual for the Torque Specs on the connecting rods since I used LS rods and tightened them according to what it said. My torque wrench was serviced and calibrated last year as well, so I dont know what the hell went on with this engine, it was properly torques, properly flushed after the build, and everything was within spec or better. I even got bearings from ------- honda and they cost me 130 bux.

were they new rods bolts? ARP's? Did u oil them BEFORE putting them in (more accurate trq readings)

They were reused, but they were oiled, yes.

Alot of people reuse them, I dont see a problem with that.

well there's a problem somewhere ;)

what were u revving it to. LS bolts stretch around 7.5k i believe (which is why when building ls/vtecs it is advised to use arps)

you should have used torque angle.... torque wrenches on rods bolts are gay
