I raced a 1g Talon/Eclipse last night!
 

Not really sure what kind of car because it was dark out and, but it was defintely a 1g eclipse or talon dark green. I was on highway 30 in oregon going home from work and I was going about 65 and this car got up on my ass. When he decided to pass I said ---- that ----, then I shifted down to 3rd gear and floored it. Got it up to near redline and shifted into 4th gear and when I got going about 110 I shifted into 5th and let off the gas proving my point.

Of course the only point I proved was that my stock 95 Civic EX was slow as ----. ------- A when I almost caught up with him at 110 he took off again and I couldn't even see him after a while. I just wanted to see what he had under the hood cause he couldn't have had a stock car. If it was stock then I am buying one of those cars.

I guess that wasn't much of a race since I got spanked pretty bad, but it was fun. I was thinking about trying to pass him up the road, but ever time I got close he would step on the gas again. I even tried sneeking up on him around a corner with a running start, but that didn't work. I finally gave up and thought damn I need a turbo.

I live in oregon. what part of highway 30 were you on? did the car have a green banner on the top of the windshield?

I was just leaving St. Helens going towards Longview and just after the 76 in Deer Park is where he passed me. I didn't get too good of a look at the car really since it was dark and he was hauling so much ass. It did have fog lights though, but I am not too sure about the banner.

if the car you raced is the same car Ive seen around that area it has a port and polished head, blitz bov,spearco fmic, and larger injectors.

dont even think about ditiching your car you one that kicked your ass on the highway just make ex kick his ------- ass with something like a B18C5 with a heafty 13lbs of BBBOOOOOSSSSSSTTTTT..

I wouldnt mess with a DSM on the freeway. The top end on most of those turbo cars is insane. They are a little sluggish from the get go cause of turbo lag, but after they are moving, look out.

yeah when I was going 110 and he was still pulling away pretty fast I kinda figured out he might have a little more top end than me. :P

I recently raced a brand new merauder with my wifes dodge Intrepid.. Was close and I won but only because of traffic in his way.. Those are supposed to be 300hp.. My wifes Intrepid has a 3.5 all aluminum block 24 valver.. "anyone know the hp?"
;DIt runs like an old big block. Its a real sleeper and I dont think the guy in the merauder was expecting me to even keep up. WOW I havn't drivin over 120mph since I had my Spider on the road!

i had the same situation only reversed a little...i was going up the nj parkway to my school, doing like 90, when some fucker in a suv desides to high-beam me...holy ---- did i flip out...i was driving my 3000gt vr4 and i just slammed it into 3rd and took off...i hit about 125(top of 3rd) and then realized i was being childish...but it was fun

yea me neither...the most ive ever done was 145 and then i pussied out...my vr4 is just so stable though...one of these days ill top it out before i sell it

thats still 3rd gear for me...doesnt take long at all....just gotta make sure the volume on the radar detector is all the way up...lol

what year is your vr4? my friends friend has a B16 turbo and raced a twin turbo 3000gt awd.....he was losing till about half way down the track then he passed him .....it was a really good race! vr4's are pretty sweet. especially the newer ones..late 90's they have kooler side scoops.

yea i have the older 92 model...ive raced a hatch with a b16 and smoked him...but it wasnt turbo...im running about 14.5psi with an intake and a apex muffler cause im too poor to add anything else

i live in st helens, there is a green talon, it is a turbo, but i've looked at it and its all stock. they are NO fast cars in st helens that aren't muscle cars. the fastest non muscle car i've ever seen is a single turbo mr2. there are lots of wrx and wrx wagons but they aren't fast.

I used to get smoked by stock turbo eclipses all the time.... Now they are just something fun to toy with when I see them on the road. Hang in there, because smoking an eclipse turbo awd with a honda is a beautiful thing ;)

On the intrepid, If you go to Autotrader.com, then used car research, then model info, you can find out the specs on pretty much all cars, after you select your car's make and model click on technical specs, will give you HP and engine tranny specs. The only 3.5l I found is the 2001 R/T and has 242hp, 248 torque. Go and find out. I use it to see the power on some cars in the area, to see where is some competition.

does anyone know what the new srt-4 neons do in the 1\4 mile.....im kinda intimidated! i dunno if my crx can keep up :-\ b16 with catback exhuast, header, intake soon to have cams.

Dodge Neon SRT/4 1/4 mile in 14.1. Thats front wheel drive, no limited slip, on street tires... not too shabby

I just recently got in a race with a 02 red eclipse going around 60 on the highway and it was riced so i couldn't help it ;D . Anyways i pull up on him and start to buck real hard and eventually i pissed him off enough to just punch it but he hesitated in traffic and i got ahead of him. Those things have very good top end i agree but i lost him in the turns we were going around 110 and he wimped out and stayed his distance away from me but followed me for like 5 miles and just turned off at a exit it was cool. I AM A MAJOR HANDLEING FREAK ::) I LOVE G-FORCE

did you turbo your car yet beerbong? wouldn't you like to race that eclipse again? My friend gs-t top speed is up to 160. I think he only got to 140 which is better than are top speed at 120.

Holy crap this is an old thread! Yes I would love to race that eclipse/talon once my car is turbocharged. Haha no I wasn't trying to do a ricer flybye I was just trying to catch up! Still don't have a turbo on my car, but I will soon. Right now I have hondata 2b, dsm 450cc injectors, resistor box, tryus IC, customcoach IC piping kit, Turbo XS RFL bov, and stealthmode oil lines. I "should" be getting enough money to finish my project around the 12th of this month. I made a post a few months ago on the updates, but I am too lazy to find it. I will make another post with pictures as soon as it's finished.

We did about 180mph on the freeway racing an M3 in the C32 AMG. then the M3 pansied out and we realized that the water temp was getting near 100 Celsius.

my grandpa took me to 200 in his vector twin turbo. that car is rediculous, stock with an aluminum block/heads smal block chevy, twin To4's at about 8psi (my grandpa's are at 14), and all wraped up in a fully carbonfiber exotic body. that thing is mean as ----.

i got embarrased by a little girl in one of those nice blue G35s while i was driving my girls IS300 i was going around 120-130 and she was just toying with me that car is amazing...it feels so much nicer at speeds like that in a nice car like a lexus or my boys 330ci i dont think i would ever think of bringing my crx past 110 that just takes some big balls maybe i can do it with the beemer ;D

The fastet i've ever gone is on a 95 cbr. I only tagged 160 and pussed out because it was fish-tailing on me. never going to ride in a rain storm again :-\

Damn this is an old ------- thread. The fastest ive ever gone in the conquest was 150. I was racing a m3. I was smoking the ---- out of him. I slowed down to about 100 when he pulled the ole' fly by on me.
