I put this in my gas tank.. lets see what happends..

I came across this article today and I needed to fill up, soo.. I did it..

So far it seems to be running VERY smooth. As a matter of fact. At about 27 miles into the tank, I stopped at a stop light, against a GSX, and slammed on it abd broke my alternator belt. Coincidence? Maybe.. but.. ----.. it was cool. We'll see how it goes when I thorw my VTec Head on my 1.5litre.. muahaha.. 8psi on 11.2:1 compression..

After a hard run, pull your plugs. Im curious what color they are. I've noticed some octane boosters colored em' a little orange.

it makes sense - and I think the reason why its not more common in modern gas is the emissions part of it...

I'll give it a shot at some point when the new motor is broke in.

Be careful with Toluene, that stuf will dissolve almost anything, including rubber fuel line and gaskets. The older cars couldnt take it, it would destroy the fuel pump diaphragm in no time. It will also wreck your paint if you get it on there, takes the shine right off.

Even mixed with regular pump gas?

Well regular pump gas can do this to if you're not careful, toulene is part of what makes gas a carbon base isn't it? (Not acidic, basic)

On my first post ever I advised someone to run straight Toulene as a replacement for intercooler/management. I wonder if he ever did?

toulene is the main ingrediant in gas...

its safe, all the snowmobilers use it and there fuel pumps do fine.

chill.

Hrm, it is the main ingredient? It's been a couple years since I read the gasoline FAQ, I don't recall that, but I am an idiot savant so that means very little these days.

It's pretty bad stuff to huff, so make a point of not breathing it when you're opening the container *outside* where it's *well ventilated*. I don't think it's quite as bad as some people make it out to be, but a perusal of the MSDS for it is kinda scary... then again I used to drink ---- with a health rating of "1" for kicks, taking advice from me is not in your best interest.

There's a recipe for cheap DIY high-octane, they put a couple capfuls of automatic tranny fluid in every gallon as a lubricant. Toluene by itself lacks the minimum lubrication modern cars seem to need with their fuel.
