i need some help fast
my friend with a 95 civic hatch with an itr swap has this problem...and i checked all the fuses even the ecu one and the main relay and i can't figure it out...heres what he said
"The other day i was wiring in a cd player. Two wires sparked and i thought nothing of it. Then when i went to start the car the fuel pump didn't turn on. First, I switched out the fuel pump, nothing. Then i checked every fuse on the entire car (as far as i could tell), still nothing. Then i checked the fuel pump relay, again nothing. I have run out of ideas on what this might be. If you have any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions please chime in, I need your help badly. Thanks in advance." "no spark...and we hardlined the fuel pump so it'll work but even with the fuel pump getting power, the car won't crank. what could this be?" -Marcel |
Re: i need some help fast
it's a fuse. visual checking might not work, pull each one out that has to do w/ starting the car and use a multimeter on it for a continuity test.

Re: i need some help fast
he pulled every fuse out and check and then i pulled every fuse out and double checked and none of them were blown/bad.

Re: i need some help fast
It's a main power/ground problem. It's not cycling the main relay, which powers both pump and ECU.

Re: i need some help fast
hahaha yeah I wonder who this dumb "friend" really is. coulda told you it was the fuse as soon as I read it.
I was fixing the passenger side power window and kept getting pissed because I had to plug the door panel in to move the window, so I tried jumping it and ended up burning a fuse. At least it was nothing more serious, I would have checked the fuses wayyyy before swapping a fuel pump. Glad its fixed. |
Re: i need some help fast
by the time i got over to his house yesterday he had already swapped the fuel pump out.
