I Need some Help
I had a Mitsubishi Lancer GL 94 and i want put turbo but i dont now how or if is too dificult
|
Re:I Need some Help
why would you want to put a turbo on a car you had? :P
|
Re:I Need some Help
Iīm from costa rica and i wanna feel more speed in my car that is the reasons
|
Re:I Need some Help
o...sorry i was kinda busting on your english...i didnt know you were from costa rica....sorry :-[
Um...turboing a lancer shouldnt be too hard since most mitsubishi cars are turboed. probably just need a 14b turbo, VAFC, a turbo manifold/dp(im sure someone makes one), and a an intercooler and charge pipes.... I dont know much about the car so i dont really know what your limits are. if you can find out the compression ratio and such im sure alot more of your questions can be handled. also a full DSM forum might be able to answer your questions a lil better. Most of us are honda schmucks... Good luck. sorry for being an ------- |
Re:I Need some Help
Thanks for the tips and dont worry man i now my english sucks ;D
|
Re:I Need some Help
you could try to do a swap from a DSM 2.0T
cheaper and easier |
Re:I Need some Help
no, but i am thinking because many people tell me the same but first i like work in actual motor. and if dont, well maybe i do the swap
|
Re:I Need some Help
Would he need that VAFC to control his VTEC switch over points? :P
|
Re:I Need some Help
i think VAFC is only for Honda's.
I dont think he can use that on a mitsu motor. I mean not Vtec engagement or whatever you call it. S-AFC would be more apropriate. But as to be honest i sincerily adise you to do a sr20det swap its cheaper and easier and more efficient. Your stoch engine isnt very good for turbo. Sr20det engine are ready to go and fast. add a bigger turbo leave the rest stock and youll have a flying mitsu ;) look for bargain engine, they are not expensive 8) |
Re:I Need some Help
I try change the motor for EVO III but is to expensive and is very difficult to find here, but i dont now if the motor can work in my car
|
Re:I Need some Help
blah blah blah you guys and your AFC crap. get a real fuel manangement :P :P
|
Re:I Need some Help
evoIII is a sr20det family engine..
THe other newer evo engine are different because the gear box is on the other side and everything is different. |
Re:I Need some Help
you think change the motor for the evoIII is more easy and cheapier?
|
Re:I Need some Help
Umm, are you aware that the SR20DET is a NISSAN motor. Putting that in a Mitsu may prove to be a challenge. I think you are getting your engines and makers all messed up. Don't confuse this guy any more then he already is.

The lancer you guys get in Costa Rica is like the Mirage we get here in the USA, Right?? If it is look for websites of people turboing the Mirage. There was a member here that did it once, rickys2000si, he had a turbo Mirage. I have not seen him here for a while now, but you could try a search for him as a user an find more about his setup. And Si necesitas algo en espaņol dejame saber, yo se que a veces es mas facil hablar y pensar en espaņol. Mandame un PM o e-mail davcivic@yahoo.com David |

::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
sorrrrrrry i meant 4g63t engine sorrrry thats the eclipse... sorry i got messed up |
Re:I Need some Help
Ok, then that changes things. A lot. I'm not sure we got a carburated one, but either way carburated turbos work different. It's possible, but I can't really help because I've never seen one in person. I'll check an post back later.

for turbo you need a special carburator that push fuel. Am i correct?? btw for the swap i was talking of a 4g63t my friend is actualy doing this, its not very easy because some mounts wont feet and youll have to go ghetto homemade but it is worth it ;) |
Re:I Need some Help
yes her in costa rica are only one lancer with turobo i think that motor is 4g63t and many people here are tell me that is more easy do swap but i want try with this motor before do the swap
|
Re:I Need some Help
Ok, according to Autotrader.com the USA did not get a carburated Mirage/Lancer, they were all Fuel injected. There's got to be someone here that knows more about carb turbos
