I need HMT's help... computer/internet saavy

Ok, so I'm a retard. I sent $500 via paypal to the wrong person. I sent it to GregRatliff@yahoo.com, when I was apparently supposed to send it to GreggRatliff@yahoo.com. I don't know what the ---- kind of luck it takes for there to be 2 greg ratliffs, both of which have paypal accounts and have yahoo email addresses. But to make a long story short, paypal claims the only thing they can do is send a request to Greg (1 g) that he send the money back to me. So now I wait. I need you intraweb clever folks to get me contact, or any information you can on Greg Ratliff of GregRatliff@yahoo.com (the 1-g greg). Any help is greatly appreciated, and I will paypal $5 for the location of the right person and another $5 if it aides me in getting my ------- money back.

Cliffnotes: Who the ---- is Greg Ratliff, where does he live, and what is his phone number? I pay you cash for info.

No need to harass the guy, as he isn't trying to ---- me over yet, he probably doesn't even know he has the money yet. Hell, what if he doesn't even use that email anymore? I need this guys phone number, and his address to tell him it over the fone, just so he knows i'm not ------- around about getting my money back.

Thanks in advance :1 :1 :1 :1 help a O0 out

That ------ sucks. Make sure that when you do get in contact with him, he reverses the payment instead of trying to just send you a $500 payment back. If he reverses the payment you get the whole amount back. If he tries to send you $500 Paypal takes $15-30 out of it :8

did he accept the payment yet? Can't you have paypal cancel the transaction if he hasn't picked it up yet? If not that's shitty.

i've done that before, not by that much cash but usually if its uncliaimed by the person you sent it too. it will get reversed back to you. if it don't get reversed bac and the person keeps it, you can file a claim with paypal explaining what happened.

You can cancel it if the person hasn't claimed it and does not have email address linked to paypal.

Oxford would be well-served to look to Clinton as a model of what not to do in the name of "progress". While a commute may be cut from 10 minutes to five due to a new and/or wider road, it is never a win-win situation for everybody involved, including the city. Families have to be displaced, houses are demolished, childhood memories can only be revisited in the mind or in pictures, trees and sceneries are replaced with saplings and new coats of paint and asphalt, and last but not least, the "small town" atmosphere that people don't think they will miss is usually destroyed and cheapened. Is five minutes always really worth it?

you know, I cant say i've manually typed in a email address into paypal, for reasons like this, normally its copy'd and pasted from a PM/Email/website... agree'd that there HAS to be some sort of recourse, especially if you marked for "goods", clearly this greg ratliff doesnt intend on sending you any goods.

If you never signed up for paypal. It would just sit in your paypal account until the person creates an account from the email that it was sent to. Until then you have an option to cancel. So in short.. what i should have said was.. if it was sent to an email with no paypal attached to it.

thanks doods. so far, i'm looking into the greg ratliff of nashville TN, and I managed to get his (i think its his) address, home phone, and business phone, but he hasn't answered or returned a message yet. I think its an older guy though, which makes me think he would hardly ever touch a computer, which is worrisome

You should be thrilled that he never touches computers. Then he may not have a Paypal account. Have you called Paypal and asked them what they can do? Does he have a Paypal account?

I'd try to contact him for a while first, and if he doesn't you could just file a claim that he never shipped. Since there won't be a tracking number paypal will eventually refund it. I'd definitely try getting it back without filing a claim first though.

Jesus Christ, stop ------- with paypal and call your credit card company. When will people learn that paypal just processes credit card charges and if you have a problem you should just call your credit card company?
