i.m. virus?
yo is there a virus or something going around now? some weird ---- just happend to me. i get this im from this chick and it says wowie and then a link my dumb *** opes it and then like 2 min later this ---- comes up asking if i want to block this app. so yeah y not block it then it keeps coming up and then i hear mad ims and then my ---- fucked up and i restarted it again. when i restarted it the open probgram came up again and i jjust closed it and the searched my comp for the file name and deleted it but when i got back on aim i asked the last person i was talkin to what happend and the just said that i sent them an im with "hilarious" and the same link
anyone have any word on this?
and lsdmotorsport i thnk i may have sent it to you because your name came up on my buddy list and he jjst signed off now. sorry if that got to you. any one know

I had the same problem, someone sent me and IM saying check this out with a link. I clicked it and my comp has never been the same since. I knew it was a virus when I tried to IM them back and it said they were signed off 
. Then it started IM'ing everyone on my list that was signed on. It sucked.

i have had teh ---- for a week and others keep sending it to me, i would have made a thread when it started but im lazy. i tried all kinds of ways of getting rid of it and my friend found a cure to it but my windows wont let me load it. its probally just some ---- created to destroy the last usable service that america online still offers. there will be a replacement when its all said and done. roadrunner now owns aol or will soon anyways.

thats why you should set any messenger you have to not allow people on your list to im you..
you need to get hijackthis and killbox

use hijackthis, click do system scan. then check off everything. and click fix checked.. then scan again.. if file is still there.. copy the path of the file.. and paste the file paths into killbox and check off the box delete on start up..
if you run hijackthis and click fixed checked after you tell killbox to delete a file on start up.. it will cancel out whatever killbox was gonna do.. it doesnt matter how many files there are.. killbox can delete em all at one start up..
it would be better if you could do this in safe mode...
best way to start a computer in safe mode is go to
start > run > and type in "msconfig"
click the "boot.ini" tab and in boot options check the box that says "safeboot"

if you a virus by clicking a link from an im from a chick called sexxxxymissysexxxx cause your **** got the better of you..
then you dont deserve to have a ------- computer...
and since all of you got that ----.. it might be some *** on here thats clicking the IM links next to your names..
like the **** that posted the free ipod link...
and the other *** that plugged that clothing website..

I hate that god damn thing I got like 100 IMs from people on my buddy list saying click this link all different links I know not to click it cause it happened to my girlfriend first so I'm lucky but its very annoying

funny. just when i logged into my computer after just getting home, i see a IM from LSDmotorsports.. "HILARIOUS [link]"
but, enough people have sent me these. most of the recent ones are *.com files. so just look for the .com and you can figure out if its a virus or not. if in doubt, ask the sender before clicking. if htey have no idea wtf your talking about, then yea its the virus
