Default NY inspection question

Yee so my inspection ended with june (95 civic hatch, so its obd1) , and my car has a few problems. No cel's, but my SRS light is on and the gaping holes where the two airbags were are taped shut with duct tape. The other thing is that I'm still missing a rear windshield from when the airbags blew it off. Now the guy that does my inspection can overlook some little things like the lack of a cat and some other small things, but I don't know about that stuff. My friend thinks that I don't need to have the airbags to pass inspection, but what I've heard is that you need to have the airbags if your car came with them originally. Sooo will it pass minus airbags and rearwindow?

I feckin called about getting a new rear window because they don't exist used within about 100 miles of my house and the guy said itd be $700 installed. WTF mate? I was thinking somewhere between 150 and 300? Anyone know of a junkyard near buffalo ny that would have 95 hatch rear window? Or do you just have one? I'd drive a couple hours if I had to, I'm sick of not being able to park in public places or bang made tyte jdm 13 yr old biddies in my car.

Default Re: NY inspection question

if you could hide the fact that the airbags were missing (Sir steering wheel, and just the plastic cover for the passenger side), and just take the srs light out. do not pay $700 for a windshield. just call around...diamond auto glass does my windshields for like $165, a hatch shouldnt be any more than that.
