i could make a list 3 pages long of COMMON EVERYDAY problems that MK4's have, i sold the same parts day in and day out for issues that shouldnt have been happening in the frst place and VW did nothing, they could have at least supereced to a newer/improved part but they didnt. the used shitty part manufactures to build parts for an overly comlicated car to save them dough and rape the owners.
if i was an emo bitch mk4 owner i'd want to cut my wrists too
edit: its also very sad that a factory turbo hatchback with thousands in mods cant run better than a high 14, my bolt on LS EF does better than that

---- a VW. The old ones weren't bad (from what I've heard) but the new ones are overpriced pieces of ----. I do enjoy all the extra luxuries in cars, but when the luxuries just cause more problems, then ---- them. My friend had a brand new 1.8t and it had all sorts of dumb ---- ------- up with it. He sold it to get something else because it did nothing but **** him off.

the body all depends on where you are, my MK2 had way more rust then my rabbit.
1g CRX Si and Scirooco 16v were the big rivals back then, pretty equal in terms of acceleration but handling goes to the CRX
