So yesterday i m at work delivering a package to the FEEDRAL RESERVE Building and the security asks me to pop my trunk to check for bombs and ----. So i pop the trunk but sghes to stoopid to figure out how to open it. SO since i have no working E-brakes i have to shut the car off and go back there and help her dumb ***. I go open the runk show here there arent any dead hookers inside and go back and try to start my car. The ---- WONT START!!!! the i get a push from the security and i try to pop the clutch but it starts for like a couple seconds and then it dies...it make a fucked up farting noise and gives out. i try push starting it again but no luck it hesitates alot and dies right away. i can hear the compression but its like i have no spark. So i get a screw driver and check for spark the old school way and i dont see it arc to any of the metal around in the engine bay.

My only conclusion is that either my igniter went out or that my dit CAp is really dirty and isnt producing any spark. Seing as how i hate electronics this is only an assumption and im not sure what the problem is. If anyone here is a WIZ with the electronics on a car please help me out with this one. If your local i would greatly appreciate if you could help me trouble shoot my car. any help would be appreciated

would a old corroded dist cap cause it to not want to start?
Do ZC distributors usually go out like this?

ive never heard of something going out like that, has it been hard to start in the past? maybe try changing your cap and rotor(cheap fix?) and maybe look around and see if any of your wiring has come off, or gotten burned and is arcing or anything.

yeah its ------- weird this hasnt happened sonce i did the swap in lated dec 2003. never had i had this problem.

Yes and Yes...Common Distributer problem is the coil pack inside the distributer, just search Google with ...Honda + Distributer + no spark you should find a write up some where to dissassemble the coil pack and resolder it back together in working order. Ive seen about a bazillion write ups on this subject. Honda makes a great engine, then farms out work to Denso for Shitty distributers

If not off to the wrecking yard to dissasemble a distributer and pocket a coil pack (small enough for your pocket)

well i went and bought a distributor cap but have yet to install it. tha car is at my parents hous in south central los angeles and im in gardena. so ill have to go their later. this has never happened before and no fuel smell is coming from anywhere. does anyone here kow how to diagnose ( spelling ) the distributor igniter and coil?

if your car is making a popping sound out the exhaust when you are cranking it over there is a couple possiblities:

1.) your rotor has melted and turned itself out of time
2.) the rotor screw/allen bolt came out

if its just got nothing then replace the whole dizzy/cap/rotor.

well i inspected the rotor last night and its snug and in tact. im thinking its the coil. or the ignitier. i have the dist from a dpfi so ill swap out the coild and ignitier one at a time to see which one is faulty.

anyone have any of these laying around? an old dpfi dist ?

The rotor can still be snug onces its melted, all it does is rotate itself like 1/8" inch but it appears normal, i have one full mpfi dizzy (no rotor, no cap) and one bare dizzy (if your bearing went bad in yours)
