I have been working with with them for a while sicnce i was about 11. boost it it will blow. and for the same price it whould take to boost it you can get a whole swap.

Ya I've heard that as well about the Non-turbo 13b's that they are really not setup to handle boost at all, especially with that milage, you may want to take nikoniko's advice, a turboII swap is the way to go.

damnit. not even allot of boost. probobly a little. like maybee not even allot, but i heard from people that just slapping some boltons will net me some in the *** power. o well. time to see if itb's will work. hopefully it wount be too freakin loud. also, is it normal to look under the hood, and see plugs that dont go to anything? basically what i am saying is it looks like ---- was plugged in, but was taken out, and i just have plugs. i dont know.

what kind of motor oil do i put in it? i read under the hood but it sayd tempt for - numbers and i got conused, so i just put in 10w-40. i think it was some penzoil crap. ill change teh oil soon enough.

damnit.

also, i dont think its gonna cost me as much as a TII because this is hmt, and ill get the crap done myself. ill probobly end up getting my bros wrx turbo and just leaving it with that. man. this sux.

does yours talk? a friend of mine has a first gen rx7 that just beeps when it's time to shift

does he shift at like 9k daily? my bro had an 89 and it only beeped at red line. now his 93TT does beep at all that i know of.

no, it beeps at a certain rpm, not even redline. it also says up shift at like 5 grand and the thing starts beeping at like 7 grand.

if you want boost... swap a TII motor in it.. the Na rotards wont take much boost .. especially at 177K.... no offense.. but expect to be putting a new motor in that car in the near future ( when you do you'll definately want to install a fuel pump cutoff switch).. if you want to prolong the life.. you can do the ATF treatment to it. that gets rid of some of the carbon buildup in the motor...as far as making it fast NA.... take everything off the motor. get rid of the PS,AC, get a header and run a (atleast) 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back.. get a new clutch...advance the ---- outta the timing..lsd's can be found fairly cheaply ( you may even have one now.. what model is it? gxl... base??).. if you dont have 5 lug brakes... id reccomend a 5 lug swap on it. the 5 lug factory brakes have 4 piston calipers on the front ( ie: peel your face off the dash braking power) etc. pull the carpeting plastic etc out the back... if it has seats back there pull them out blah blah.....get rid of the OMP and run premix etc..... i have a friend that did all this and ran a 14.6 in a peg legged NA stock port rx7. they can be moderately fast for little to no $$. and they handle amazingly.

as far as oil... it dpends on where you live.... in GA here my buds run 20-50 in the summertime.. and 10-30 in the winter.

dude, your a life saver.yes its the 5 lug version with 4 wheel disc breaks, its a gxl i think, and it has no reer seat. its the two seater version withought the sunroof. as far as i can tell, the damn thing is in perf3ect mechanichal condition. i mean really. all that is new is too long to list. its amazing. i might take the airconditioning out, but not the power steering. i want to keep that, since i am a weak girly man.

also, does that big thing ( mas ) need to be there? can it be taken out? "the OMP and run premix" enlighten me a little, because i fail to know what the hell that his.


also, i would also like to convert it to dual throtle bodies.

ok congrads on having one beastly heavy pig of an rx7. well its not THAT bad lol.. good news is you have the good brakes and you MAY have an LSD stock.( jack the *** end up... turn one wheel.. if both wheels spin you have an lsd...if not youre peg leggin it)

-"perfect mechanical condition" yeah well.. its a high mileage rotard. it isnt a question of if it'll explode... its more like... today or tomorrow.. or next week.. or whatever.. it will. for some peace of mind you might want to pour some marvel mystery oil in the gas and some in the motor..

i'd ditch the PS before i ditched the AC... trust me.. when you lose that power steering you feel SOOO much more of whats goin on with the car. and the ratio is still so that its not very difficult to drive the car.. its about like a civic/crx w/ manual steering.. not bad at all. ( ditching your PS and AC also gives you a tremendous gain in throttle resoonse)

- yes the MAF sensor has to be there.. the car will run like -------/ not run at all withough it... stick a cheap cone filter on the MAF sensor and go with it

- OMP = oil metering pump. a rotary engine uses this pump to inject motor oil into the combustion chamber to lubricate/ seal the combustion chamber( yes this means that all rotarys burn oil). if you eliminate the omp you have to mix high grade 2 cycle oil in with your gas. if memory serves right the ratio is 1oz oil/ gallon of gas. an advantage to this is better lubrication and a cleaner burning mixture ( ie less carbon deposits.. and carbon is the enemy of a rotard motor)

- dont waste your time on dual throttle bodies... if you want to make some power switch to a carb setup and get rid of the fuel injection all the way, get a big SP and a full exhaust. ( this is of course only applicable to a NA motor)

also the first "pay mod" ( ie not free ---- like weight reduction) i would look at is an exhaust... a stock rx7 has like 45 cats on it and some restrictive *** piping....
