I can't tell anything from the picture you posted, out of focus and poor resolution. But, here's a halfassed guess:

The piston face kinda looks black, as in oil black? You had a bit of oil catch fire and induce preignition in that area. Once you get oil ignited in the combustion chamber it burns pretty slowly (compared to combustion on the ns to fraction of a ns level) and pretty bright. I had, at one time, some nice 1940's literature that showed combustion over time as photographed through a peephole into a combustion chamber. They induced a couple of different conditions inside the combustion chamber, an oil fire was one of them, and it burned pretty bright and very long compared to a normal flame front flashing across the chamber.

Pull piston and check for broken ringlands, abnormal wear in that area, possible egg shaped bore. Get better pics?

I pulled my turbo and oil just poored out.

I guess JD was right

So my damn turbo caused me to melt a piston! POS :-) . I guess its time to rebuild or upgrade..

I dont follow, I mean if it was oil being forced into the cylinder that caused the pre-ignition, why is it in only one cylinder? Wouldnt it occur in all of the cylinders?
And also wasnt excessive smoking or oil consumption noticed before the damage occured.

It set in on one cylinder first. Oil is not atomized and blown in with the charge easily, so which cylinder does it get pushed into first, nig nog?

Smoking is caused by oil entering the combustion chamber(blue), or passing the turbine and smoking on the hot exhaust(white)... it started entering #4 first, and only in any significant quantity when at WOT. She might have smoked a hair under boost but it can be easy to miss, by that time #4 ---- the bed.

Oil consumption, probably, sounds like there was some oil coming out the BOV.

yea it smoked just a little bit, it was so questionable that I had someone follow me and it was only under high boost and high rpm. I think a seal blew and dumped oil quickly into the motor because I've never seen so much oil comming out of a turbo charge pipes besides those boneyards and it been smoking a little bit for over a year.
