I desperately need a new daily driver

I would like to get a hatchback because I take allot of musical equipment around and i just like having a small car. my limits about 4 grand. I tryed to look for EG's but thats not happening all of the ones ive seen are either like 3 grand and have a good 170k miles on them, there far away, or they have a ton of miles on them. Ive been looking at Volkswagens and it looks like i can score a 97-98ish golf for that much and they have lower miles and its a newer car so its less to worry about. does anyone have anyother sugestions? no EF's im not paying 2500+ for an ef, some people try to sell standard hatches for 4 grand here. any imput would be appreciated, thanks.

I haull 6000 dollars worth of equipment to shows at bars neer the ghetto. I need somthing i can lock up so all of the crack heads sniffing around for dollars dont think they hit the daily crack lottery. a truck would be nice to haull motors and stuff around in but i can use my dads for that.

buy my car, fix it, and you'll be well under your $4k limit and you'll still be rockin a honda :6

i cant fit my speaker cabinents in a 4 door ;). plus i already have a car i can fix and drive, i just droped a motor in it and it turns out the wheel bearings are bad after sitting for so long and some other things. and thats pretty much just going to be my project car.

Just a little example of why i cant afford a civic hatch around here

a truck with a cap....still my $.02

they'll fit in a hatch, i used to load my civic down with 2 15 inch monitors, a mixer, 2 guitar heads, 3 guitars and some other things. and I personaly dont like how trucks look or drive. I think the only truck id buy would be a little 4 wheel drive tacoma and i cant afford one of thoes either.

Go take a drive down Rt. 4 through Fairfield, I have to drive through it everday on the way to work and I see a lot of decent priced cars go through if you look hard enough.

ill check that out on my way to cinci today. I looked up explorers and cherokees and there all way more than i can spend or they have 170k miles on them. I think im going to go check that golf out today, they're pretty easy to work on and look decent.
