Hah.
My dad was telling me about being in Iraq and letting the canteen of welch's grape juice sit out to ferment. He said he had a nice big canteen full, and it disappeared one day :1 |
Re: i bought a half gallon of cider at the local farm market
It would work much better if you added a bit of sugar and some brewing yeast.

Re: i bought a half gallon of cider at the local farm market
non-pasturized drinks contain naturally occuring bacterias/yeasts on the fruit, which when are mashed, are in the juice. this is the same way fruit forments in the wild

I don't know where the laxative things comes from but Yes it needs yeast to ferment. There is naturally occurring yeast floating around in the air, so it will eventually ferment from that. Fermenting in the fridge will just take longer. I would suggest using berwers yeast so you know it will turn out fine. You could easily get a gallon of cider(no preservatives) from the store, toss in a one dollar packet of dry brewers yeast in, and let it ferment and get booze. No guarantee on taste though.
