yeah, congratulations on the wicked birthday. the problem with today's youth is their too wicked impatient. they want a wicked job as soon as they get out of high school that pays a wicked decent amount, not realizing that when they're 22, they'll be making maybe just a little bit more, but could have had a degree by then and be making a lot more. but to each his own, i didn't go to school and i got pretty lucky in the job department, but if i hadn't, i would still be working 12 hrs. a day in a pizzeria taking home 500 a week, keep in mind, that's good money when you're a teen, but the older you get, the lesser it seems.

LOL I have 2 Degrees, one a masters degree and was still making +500$ a week. I always love hearing that pizza guys make more then what I needed a damn masters degree for ::)

God I hate the job market...I have credentials up the Ass and still cant get a well paying job so I have to work for my mom's Architecture firm for under the table wages.

Really though, If I was you Id take a job that wasnt serious for a bit and just have a good time for a year or so. Then get you a loan and off to school with you. Living in the world will help teach you what it really is like, and hopefully motivate you in school. Also when you get a bit older the government gives you Grant money for school (I got $2000+ in free grant money, and by the time I got to Grad school my last year was 100% paid with my Grant money)

AND HAPPY WICKED BIRHDAY TO THE WICKED KID WICKED

*Jeesh try to pass on some knowledge to the kids and they want to stab you for it...

Re:i am ...56k, go home

whats a pilot truck driver anyways? I went to college for 2 years and the first job i got i made $2400-$2600 a month... not too bad, but my friends, who hadnt gone to college are still making like $7/hr, $10/hr... its tough , and their is no future in what they are doing. More companies care about degrees and ---- than they do experience, which is not always a good thing. If youre really really good at a trade such as a plumber or bricklayer/tile guy you can do very well for yourself too, some friends of mine do that and some make more than i do. Just remember, college isnt for everybody but it sure is a great way to go.

3k a month is not bad at all, any body that can't support them self on 3k dollars a mont is an idiot. before taxes, benefits, etc., etc., 3k a month would be close to 50k a year gross.

btw travis, a 400 dollar camera and you don't even know how to use the flash ;)

Happy B-day..

Here is a little Birthday advice. For the Majority of people, College means ----. Unless you have a SPECIFIC career path in mind and plan to do just that. College is absolutely necessary if you want to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer or anything highly specialized, but the majority of people going don't know what they want to do and are just doing it for a worthless piece of paper. 4-5 years later, they're broke, in debt and STILL can't get a decent job. 80% of Fortune 500 CEO's have a degree.. In LIBERAL ARTS! The MOST important thing is knowing the right people. Networking and impressing your parents friends that have hook-ups. It doesn't matter if you have a degree, all that does is get you past the HR dept. If you know someone in the company, THAT will get you in. If you don't believe me, I don't have any degrees and I have a nice job as a Network Administrator. I taught myself everything I know at previous jobs and home and I know quite a few others in the same boat, while my friends back home with degrees are still working for their parents or at the same job they had in college..

happy birthday. school is boring i am in my fourth year and i cant get a job for my life i would love a little pizza job that paid five hundred a week. but instead i work fifteen hours a week and do nothing but play on the computer at my job. and to top off the crappy pay. i get paid once a month only. i say take any job you want if it will make you happy. you can go to college whenever you want it is not as if there is an age limit, or nightime classes and weekend classes for those who work to survive yet seek a degree.

How do you figure that? $3000 x 12 months = $36000 gross annually. I don't see him mentioning he would make $3000 net a month and when boasting most people use their gross income amount instead of net income. So if consider taxes, benefits contribution and CAN -> US exchange rate, that $3k a month really is not much... but for a 17 year old living with his parents that's awesome :P Happy birthday and do what makes you happy.

Re:i am ...56k, go home

Wicked Birthday happy lad. Just be Grateful for what you got and help others out when you can. Good things come to those who wait. And to everyone who posted in here about degrees and jobs and ----, its all about how you present yourself and how you use your head. It helps to know people, but with or without school u can do big things in the Usa.. If your one of those guys who need the "security" of a job and relying on someonelse staying in business for your paycheck, then by all means, enjoy the job, but theres nothing like working hard for a bit, making your $ and then working for yourself
