Hurray, I may be ridden of the RICE!!!

As some of you know, I have a riced out b16 rex. Don't flame me because I bought it that way for a damn good deal. Well, I think I found a buyer. They looked at the car today, and liked it alot ;D They're getting the money on monday for their car, and hopefully buying my car. HURRAY HURRAY HURRAY. ;D And I have two backup plans, one is kinda shifty, but oh well, its a backup plan. Oh, and if the cash comes through on monday, then project beater hatch will likely be underway. I know what you guys feelings on this will be, but I haven't decided whether I should buy a 12w7 (for those who don't know that a sub)and amp, or do my first turbo project. I will have both the system and the turbo at some point, but I haven't decided which one to do first. ??? Ill keep you posted.

yeah, I know how everyone on this forum will feel about it. But I'm not going to do a turbo just because people tell me too. I like many prefer function over fashion. However, I have never done a turbo before, I don't even have a real good understanding of how a turbo functions. I do however know about car audio ;D. It will take me a LONG time, even with help from this site, to get a homemade turbo assembled, where I can go buy that sub, build a box, and have a BOOMING system in a couple of days. It will probably take me 6-9 months (and thats if I apply myself) to get my first turbo up and running. Not to mention that I WILL blow up the motor >:(

Being a JL Audio fan, a year ago I would have said go for the 12w7, but now I just look at subs/amps as extra weight I don't need. I love pulling up to a riced out car bumping his music, while I am in my dad's hot rod and I also love watching them try to keep up in the rear view mirror ;D

You obviously like to go fast otherwise you wouldn't be at this site so I would say the turbo would be more of a function to you than the sub. I think if you keep doing research on this site and the internet you will get a good understanding of how to build your own turbo pretty quick. Ask lots of questions too cause there are more than enough people here to help you out with your turbo project.

Dude I have a 96 mazda b2300 with 5g in the system. I love sound, but i will never put an amp/sub in my rex. Killer bass and speed dont go together.. subs are too damn heavy. At least the good ones are.

But its up to you.. waste lame ass ricers or have good bass.

Well guys, the hatch I was gonna buy is sold >:( Anyway, I was just thinking that $500 is alot for just one speaker. I won't feel safe leaving my ---- anywhere. So turbo it is ;D. As soon as I get the money, I will be hitting the yards, how much (I know its a general question, so just give me a range) should I look to pay for a turbo? Intercooler?

just buy a ghetto ass boombox.... if your racing and your laggin a bit... toss the bitch out the window and your all set... jk... nah dude get the turbo kit... a sound system just gets your car more unwanted attention.

Re:Hurray, I may be ridden of the RICE!!!

i agree with zexrex....i mean systems are cool and all....kinda fun to show off, really gets a lot of attention. but i myself would go with turbo....not only do you get a quicker car, but you get the knowledge of building the kit and how turbos and motors work. i just depends on what your main goal is with your hatchback.
