A Huge HMT Thank you!!!!
I'd just like to thank all of you for having all the information I ever needed for my turbo project. I've been working on my project for many years now. (time and money are tight.) I first started with a pair of IHI turbos from Ford Probes. But when I would ask folk about the flow of these units, I'd get answers anywhere from 190-230 cfm but without a pressure rating. So, I purchased a T3 turbo for a single turbo setup. But that required more modifications to the motor for it to work properly. However, after searching your information, while searching other places, I've finnaly found the proper information I've been searching for. This, plus many other small issues I had questions about, was already answered here within the forums. I thank each and every one of you.
As soon as I make more headway with the project, I'll update everyone with my results. For now I'll let all of you know about my plans: I am an owner of a 93 Chrysler Lebaron Convertable, with the 3.0L SOHC 12 valve Mitsubisi built V6. My plan was to turbocharge this motor. But I wanted to do something "different" from the norm. So I opted for a twin turbo setup. I have finnaly chosen to use two IHI RHB5 VJ11 turbos for my project. I am constructing a custom rear manifold for one of the turbos. Up front, I'm only going to need to make an adapter pipe/flange for the other. This will keep fabrication down to a minimum. Another benefit of going with twin turbos is that I now do not need to alter my intake manifold to make room for the turbo(s). List of all components: On hand: 2 each IHI RHB5 VJ11 turbochargers with internal wastegates Manual boost controller Turbine Inlet and turbine/wastegate outlet Flanges Fabricated rear exhaust manifold Fabricated front exhast manifold adapter pipe Oil pressure hoses 2 each Probe/MX-6 intercoolers 2 each Volvo BOV's 310cc/m injectors adjustable fuel pressure regulator Adjustable FMU (BEGI 2 way adjustable) 3" catalitic converter 3" cat back exhaust pipes Required parts: 2 Turbo oil drain fittings Oil drain hoses Turbo coolant hoses 1 each turbo rebuild kit IC piping/hoses/connectors/clamps Downpipes Muffler (*optional) Air filters for turbo inlets. APEXi or similar SAFC to help with the VE's with the modified fuel system If I'm forgetting something or if anyone has any suggestion/questions, feel free to add your remarks. Single wide or double? :P Youve been working on this for a few years and all you have is two rhb5's and some other junkyard parts? Jesus. I'd hate to see how long it would take you to boost with some new quality parts? :S

Cool.I like seeing diff cars getting the HMT treatment.Looks like you have done your reaserch and it should turn out pretty good.Keep the updates coming.

I'm hoping not for only 5-8 psi of boost, for starter. Chances are I'll be needing a high pressure/flow fuel pump before I run out of injector. But I think I can squeeze in a set of 370-450cc units. But not until I get an air/fuel modifier. With the 310cc units I've got now, without boost, I have to set my fuel pressure at 30psi to emulate my stock 210cc units. With 370cc units, I'll be near 22 psi of fuel pressure as a base setting without a modifier to the MAP sensor. Also consider this.... ... I have two more injectors than the majority of you guys. So I should have enough fuel (1860cc total) for my initial plans. Figure you guys with the 450cc injectors are only getting (1800cc total) worth of fuel. And I'm only shooting for 300-350 hp max. I want it to be more streetable than a strip monster. |

Do you ever post anything with actual substance? All I've read from you is banter and hardcore flaming. Yes, money is tight, and I pick up parts when I can. So back the ---- off unless you have something of use to say. Funny thing I've seen is that you use an avitar of Richard Dean Anderson. So I'd only guess that coinsides with your attitude. A true Flamer!!!!!!!! Grow up or get lost!!!!! Thanks to all other's who commented on the setup. I'll keep those updates coming when time allows. |
