How's this bottom end look (no...it ain't about chicks)

A few of you might recall my post a few days ago regarding buying a front clip from some dude. Well, I've spend the past few days cleaning things up. For the heck of it, I thought I'd pull the pan to see how things looked. I wasn't overly impressed, but who knows how long the motor has been sitting. Plus, run some synthetic through there and she'll be clean.

Anyways....how bout some thoughts/opinions on this block.

if it is honda it would have to be gsr because it has oil squirters, but those don't look like any gsr oil squirters I've seen.

ITR's gotem too ;) The b16 and b17 were the unlucky ones that didnt get them (and non vtecs)

Btw guys, thats hardly dirty. Cast iron blocks usually always look like that.

since you have the pan off pull off the rod caps and look at the bearings. then put in some new ones....rod and mains....0.2

Yep, that's the 4AGZE bottom end. The last version of the motor. Oil squirters, forged everything, etc.

I don't think it looks too bad. Who knows how long it sat in a junkyard in Japan with oil in the pan.

This motor is praised for its neck snapping torque. It should make a for a nice sleeper in a 4-door 2400lb sedan.

I plan on slappin a turbo on and boostin the hell out of it. HKS makes a nice manifold for the GZE.

Thanks guys!

That bottom end looks good to me...I've seen worse ... like mines and the engine still runs with no problems...
Mine is clean now...some new oil cleaned it all up.
