How to Unlock a gsm phone
 

Just Signed up for a new plan through t-mobile and got a new v3 razor, my previous carrier(cingular) has the same sim card type but when i insert it into the phone it says i need a subsidy password. Anyone here know how to help me?

You have to either buy the cable & software or find someone who has it already.

most independent cell phone store can do it for about 10 bucks

With t-mobile they can unlock your phone for free, but the catch is that you have to be a customer for more than 90 days. ::)

At least it isn't like cingular where unless you have a good reason they make you wait until the contract is up ::)

Tell them you're leaving the country and you want to be able to use the phone with other sim cards outside the country. Usually works. Should have bought an MDA btw.

so are u trying to unlock the razor or another phone?

when i needed a motorola unlocked, i used http://myworld.ebay.com/reliable_unlocking_service/ ...they were awesome...same day turnaround

Just go to some place that sells everything under the sun. They usually have a tech that is a jack of all trades.

In that case your mobile is network locked.You can get subsidy codes via online to unlock your network lock . I got my mobile unlocked from http://www.mobileunlocksolutions.com/ if you want you can try them..

They provide you with free instructions so that you can unlock your mobile yourself step by step :)
