how to ship a engine?

i have a spare vg30dett engine im going to slap on ebay, im wondering how im going to go about shipping it, it takes about 3-4 people to lift, id guess its around 300lbs? maybe a bit more. do i put it on a pallet and wrap it up? where should i bring this bitch to? im in northern california if that makes any difference.

i think you can strap it on a pallet and take it to a place like ups or fedex? ive never shipped one before but i called them. it will prob cost a ---- load though.

yeah throw it on a pallet, strap it down/band it(use cardboard or something along those lines to keep the traps from rubbing on the motor) then thrink rap the whole motor/pallet so its nice and sterdy.

then i would just call up local shipping companies for the best deal, you could iether bring the motor there or they'll pick it up for you.

fedex does freight, get it on a pallet and weigh it out.

have fedex quote you frieght to the basic zones before you list it.

Yellow freight usually has decent prices, we dealt a lot with them at my last job.

You've proven how much of a ----- you really are by saying it takes 4 people to lift a 300lb engine. Anyway, go to www.dnafreight.com

They use forward air for terminal to terminal shipping and pilot air for door to door, terminal to door or door to terminal. You don't have to set up an account to ship with them either. Just register a name.

True, but they aren't that big either. I wanna know how you could get 4 guys on a block and be able to maneuver the thing around without stepping all over someone else.
