I can't fit a vise grip, there's a U shape blockage ontop of it.

Re: How to remove a stripped drain plug?

Use a strip socket.
Or take a hammer and nail the size smaller socket you need onto the bolt.

Re: How to remove a stripped drain plug?

Drill the plug out. Tap the center left handed to accept a bolt. Then your problem is solved.

I still can't beleive that you can get a bolt-out, vice-grip, or someting in there.

After you hit it with your purse say "I DONT KNOW YOU" then kick the oil pan in the nuts.

Yeah really, the drain plug my g/f's stratus was striped to ---- and tighter than all hell, i put one pair of vice grips on the bolt head (or what was left of it), then used a second set to tighten the adjuster all the way down on the first vice grip while it was clamped on. I gave it a few hardy taps with a hammer to break it loose, and vouala!!! Then just bought a replacement plug at the dealer for like 3 bucks.

Re: How to remove a stripped drain plug?

why, dont be a cock face, drilla small hole in the stripped plug, and use an easy-out.

theres dtons fo alternatives, it just sounds liek your mechanical ability to solve such problems is around zero to -5.

Re: How to remove a stripped drain plug?

when i worked at jiffy lube and bitches would do this i would just tell my manager i cant get it and then we would send them out. but sometimes i would get it if i was in the mood and all jiffy lubes give u a free replacement plug or some asses will hand tighten the stripped plug
