how to remove rounded nuts

ok people, i tried to look for posts on hmt about it but couldnt find so here goes... im currently in process of installing MY turbo setup on my car, but i ran into a big problem..i rounded my nuts from trying to unbolt the header. i tried to take it off with 12mm 12 sided socket, and it completely rounded 5 of my nuts leftover. to get them off, read this forum. it basically says
1. try to take bolts off when engine is warm, or get a torch to heat up bolts *heat expands metal*
2. use wd-40 and let it soak
3. use sears unbolting thingy
4. split the nut by drilling, cutting, wedging, etc

hope this helps you and me out..werd

all else fails, just give it a good kick, and to be honest with u all for certain things rubbing alcohol is a great lubricant... other then that wd-40 is still raping the market

Craftsman has some remover/pullers you may want to look at

Sanp-on long throw air hammer. just bust off those pesky bolts/nuts, and replace the studs with new, the heat always corrodes them anyway. when you do replace them, use locktight on the head side of the studs, and antisieze on the nuts/exhaust side of the studs. that way you wont have probs with them again. Like may dad used to say you always got time to do it right once, but you never have time to do it over.

I stripped a nut on my catylic converter and took off the whole exhaust system and used a bench grinder to get rid of the nut. those exhaust hangers are a bitch though

kroil is 10x better than WD40

you reall need to use 5 sided sockets :)

one thing i did on a stripped nut before, was take a file and make your own edges... then find a socket that will fit it... taht works really well
