anyone know how to get this girdle or whatever it is off so I can pull the crank?

it would have to be on there really well... i was honding it on a hoist by a strap wrapped around it, and bouncing it over some tires and it wouldnt come off... im thinking i might need to take something else off first? maybe the oil pump?

take everything off just to make sure it isnt grabbing anything

use ur hands to do it. do one side at a time

I had a tough time getting the main caps off of my LS block, I used some pliers on the first one, then I was able to get my hands in for the rest. A rubber mallet does nicely as well.

Tap with a Hammer, comes right off

i actually ended up putting a broom handle under each side, and it came right loose.. now, onto the removal of the crank!

I actually made this same post a long time ago, and got the same response, from the same person :P

Just have at it with a hammer, it will come off.
