13-15% driveline loss for FWD Honda's (dyno coast down tested)
Whats the difference between a 330 whp CRX and a 550 whp CRX?????? About 1 second faster with less hp. |

Times on a standard track are better than just hp and top speed numbers IMO. |

Re:how much power do you loose?.....
Drivetrain loss is NOT a percentage, never ever.
If your drivetrain loss is actually 20hp (and no, these coastdown tests are bullshit) and you are putting for example 200hp to the wheels. Put in a 50 shot of nitrous and you will pretty much make 250hp at the wheels. Hence drivetrain loss is purely a factor of speed and not torque. Dyno dicks usually boost up their bullshit numbers by percentaging drivetrain loss. I can very much assure you that a 2000hp top alcohol dragster is not losing 200hp+ in the transmission. If that was the fact then the gearbox would pretty much boil all the oil in every run. I'm talking about a manual box here with no cooling at all. |
