8 is more hp... im not sure that there is a hp per psi gain formula.. i think at 2psi you have 1.5 times as much hp as 1psi? or something along those lines... someone correct me if im wrong

too many variables to determine. But if you go with an afc and 450's for management, or 450's and a chipped ecu you will be safe for around 10psi, so 8 would be fine also.

im gonna say there is probly around 10 hp. for every 1 psi.
say you got 6 psi, its probly gonna be around 60 hp.
---- it. i have no idea :P

your motor should be about to handle 10 the most so 8 isnt pushing it. Just make sure it well tuned and you'll be fine. I dont think its 10hp per psi though. like my man davcivic said too many variables

Re:how much hp difference is there between 6lbs and 8lbs of boost ?

Ok this is what I read somewhere,

1 bar is suposed to be double your na output cause your doubling the amount of air entering your engine. So if your doing 7psi which is aproximatly half 1bar, then youd be adding approx. half of your na output.
Something like that so it depends on your na output as well as your boost level.

on my car specs it says stock is 98 hp but ive done a few mods so i say like 105 and half is like 52.5 plus my stock hp would mean i would have about 157.5 or so hp with turbo ? give or take damn thats good enough for then 8 lbs of boost it is my good sir 8)

minus ~15-25% hp lost by the time it gets to the wheels. (unless yours is 98.5hp at the wheels)

what engine, d15b7 right?? i think a decent sized turbo at 8 psi would add more h.p. than that, just shoot for 10 psi and prolly put like 180 to the ground.

Re:how much hp difference is there between 6lbs and 8lbs of boost ?

Again I think there's too many variables, like condition of engine, mangement, turbo size, your setup, etc, that could give you different numbers, but if you want a ballpark figure, look at most of the guys here running d-series setups. They get anywhere from 170-200 hp to the wheels. So the least you might get I would think should be around 175@8psi.

Re:how much hp difference is there between 6lbs and 8lbs of boost ?

You can't just throw numbers out there without all the details of the setup (the size of the turbo for one). 10 psi on a small IHI turbo isn't the same as 10 psi on a big T4 turbo. Just tune your car well and boost 8 psi... you will be fine.

if his car natural asp is around 98-100 hp. I dont think hell be at 175-200whp with his car. I think hell be up to 190 hp and around 160-170 whp with his del sol. Just guessing here beacause with my y8 i'll be around 190-200 whp if im running 10 psi

Re:how much hp difference is there between 6lbs and 8lbs of boost ?

Yep that's why I said again that there are too many variables. But you are right 160-170 sounds reasonable, but again, we can't really give you a specific number, as far as your original question, you will be fine @8psi.
