how many of you think its fun to be the under dog?
 

im talking about having an hmt set up on a crappy car and still smoking everyone. anyway this came up when me and a friend were talking about how funny it would be to boost a ford aspire or festiva.

i was gonna buy a gt-25 for that.. and see if i can do it to my neightbors metro with only 40k miles on it :y

but the deal on the gt-25 fell out.. so the whole idea went with it :-\

when you beat somebody who thinks their car is hot shyt with a 1988 stock looking family sedan on street tires, the beating is much more severe and ego deflating than say losing to a big nasty race car etc... so yeah, its sorta fun to be the underdog, the more they dont expect to get beat, the better

of course its fun to be the underdog. if your not you have the mentality like "oh im in a ------- porsche no one can beat me" that way you can only be disapointed. but if your in a boosted to hell econo box and you beat a porsche you kill his ego and impress yourself. and get that little boost of hey man, i ------ made that work self esteem.

4G63T in a Colt is a killer swap as well.Got my ass handed to me once by one, after I finished laughing at this idiot in a Colt. :-[ I love being the underdog as I live in a area where sub 14 second imports are a rarity so all the V8 boys think you can't be fast with a import unless its a STI,Supra etc.I am in the middle of a big overhauling this winter and plan on being damm close to a 11 second car, I just can't wait to stomp some big block musclecars. :y

some guy came to the store today for a a car battery for his '05 mustang gt350 or whatever and we got into that conversation. i asked him how much he paid for it with a stock 260ishWHP. he said around $30k. i laughed at him.

hey do you live in WA b/c there is a 4g63 colt up here and its hella quick...im pretty sure it is white but im not positive on that.

No im in BC and there is a few Colt's running around with 4G63T swaps.The one that handed it to me was white and that was a couiple years ago so who knows.From what I understand it is a fairly straight forward swap but depending on year,model etc there can be quite a bit of wiring.Awesome sleeper though I got burned hard and Im a import guy!

I have no desire to be any type of underdog anymore. I've got 300hp and can run a 32 second 1/4 with a steady 9mpg and it costs me 2 testicles a month, but damn do I look good in it. :6

We have one where i live, it looks like ass, white, rusty, cracked windsheild, spare tires on the back, looks real funny when the dude driving it rolls up to teh water box with a helmet on driving that pos, then it goes wooooooooosh, bam....11.30's.....---- me, it hauls.....

I remember someone put a Buick V6 turbo into a geo metro. 9 second car!
But yeah, being the under dog is great. Ricers and owners of more expensive cars get a serious attack at their ego when they get their doors blown off by a rusty old grandpa's car.

People that don't know us think my brother is a ricer because his Corolla has a hood scoop. People that know us also know that it feeds an IC. Is it ugly? Yeah, kinda. Is it worth it? Yes. Seeing the Mustang/Fbody/etc driver that you keep raping become violently angry because he can't figure out why he keeps losing is one of the most entertaining things ever.

Fun swap - 4G63 into a Hyundai Pony. Should bolt right up to the 1.6L model.

i got beat by a boosted ecotec with the setup i had on my minime. my first car was a jbody though so i already got respect for the cavys that rip :) too many ricers give Js a bad image :-/ i heard you had fun with that srt with "intake and exhaust" haha

so i run 110mph 1/4ths with 5.5psi... so i can crank the boost to 15 and blow both gaskets on every cylinder but win? lol it'd be so worth it :-*

im movin up there in march, i dont have a problem losing either 8)

ps, i never race for money. causes too many problems and i'll end up having to unconceal my rod

damn right is cool to be the underdog, in fact my civic its down to bone stock, no rice, not even wheels or window tint, just a plain ugly grocery getter, whats fun it's the whooosh coming out of under the hood and your pricey sports car behind it >:D sick feeling
