When the time comes that I am aske (by my stupid car) to rummage under the hood, I don't use gloves. Reason one: I don't want to. Reason two: I don't have any. Reason three: What's the point? LETS GET DIRTY!!!! 
With that said, I probably should use gloves. I don't always know which parts are going to be hot. <---Some stupid blonde for ya

Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I work on cars all day for a living. Grease isn't a problem so I don't wear gloves most of the time, but if I'm attacking a gas tank or something like that, I'll grab a pair of nitrile gloves, they're kind-of like latex gloves but stronger. That way I don't go home stinking like gas.

I use my pair of mechanix gloves when i work on my car and when i go to the wreckers. Before i never used gloves and my hands were so dam cut up. There was blood on everything, lol. I also use those disposible vinal gloves when i might toach gas/dirty oil cause its been studied that long term exposure to petrolium based fluids and such can cause skin cancer. Your body can also absorb heavy metals that may be present in dirty oil and cause u problems later in life. Once a heavy metal gets into your body, it tends not to come out.

I have a few boxs of rubber gloves, i use them when i remember, i hate trying to wash 10 year old grease out of my hands. so i use about 10-15 pairs each time i do an engine swap. those ******* break like no other.!

i cant stand it when my hands get all wet and nasty under the latex.. ick. not to mention ripping em every 5 minutes.
but they are nice to have for oil changes and small jobs..
