hey guys I was just wandering what will I need to make a custom intercoler and how? I herd some people get intercolers of mac trucks and basicaly big rigs and custom made there own intercolers...

So yeah Id like to try something new and make one as a project...

learn how to weld aluminum first, and by then it should be self explanatory.

 

Used core is a big pain, lots of Diesel oil and crap to mess up your welds. The cut down and clean up is a time consuming project. It is usually better and cheaper to buy one already built. The prices have come way down and there are lots of guys building them. Try www.speedpartsrus.com

I went through that whole build on that 2.3 turbo'd stang and it was actually pretty interesting. Funny thing though was that he was on his second degree and bought a mobile home? Damn with that much education he should be living in a damn trailer park! I was at out local pick and pull and saw a huge Garrett intercooler sitting in a bigger pile of radiators. Hell I could chop it apart and sell it for core fmic and sell that ---- on ebay and make a little bank for two of my projects going on.
