How the hell do I get S-video to work on my laptop to my tv??
Ok I have an IBM thinkpad and just found out now that it has an S-video plug on the side. So i plug my S-video cable from the laptop to the tv and I don't see anything playing whats so ever. I checked the properties setting and switch to generic televison and still nothing comes up. What the hell am I doing wrong or what am im not doing right??

some laptops, like mine have another thing you have to change after switching properties ... there should be a display tab and it will have a little pictures... make sure there is a green part by the TV not red (hopefully that makes sense)

On my TV I have to switch the TV input mode into "S-video". It has "Antenna A, Antenna B, VCR, and DVD-Svideo. I could never get my computer to display on my TV though. It was weird because like in media player it would display the frame of it, but not what was playing.
Oh, and I also have this program called "NVIDIA" on my computer that I think does the display? ---- I dunno, I'm just trying to help. :P

yes i believe its an s-video out. i connected my s-video cable to it to my tv and it says it detects it. I click on properties and display- setting-monitor then advance and on the tab on screen display its show on the bottom a tv and my laptop so i know it should be working. It has a green tab like suckah said. but its saying something weird like click "FN+F7" to switch between monitors from laptop to tv and everytime i do that my tv just flash for a second but nothing shows up.

i have my comp hooked up to my tv right now and your have to right click the desktop to property's go to settings there should be to squares 1 and 2 then click 2 and then click extend windows desktop to this monitor hit apply a picture of your desktop should appear on you tv if not DO NOT DO THE REST OF THIS
if the picture dose show up then click
make this my primary monitor and it should send the input to the tv click apply
then to switch back unclick both and click 1 and click both

whats square 1 and 2?
this is what the s-video looks on my laptop. it has an s by it so im pretty sure i have s-video
i have windows 2000 so i might not see this square 1 or 2 thing your saying maybe?
