Default How hard to rebuild a dirty D?

Ive swapped out the engine/trans/clutch in both my accord and civic. Also done a headgasket and timing belt too. Would a person with my limited experience be able to do a rebuild. Iam down to the civic and crx and already replaced the engine in the civic and getting ready to pick up a y8 engine/trans for the crx and thinking of rebuilding the old engine out the crx to have a backup engine for either of the cars. plus i plan on pinning this block, eagle rods and susuki pistons. What else is included, guess i can have the head done at the local machine shop they check the vavles and replace the seals and have them hone the block. Then new bearings and shitznit anything else iam missing or anything a first tymer needs to be aware of, something i might ---- up because i dont have expience in rebuilds?
