Yeah I may try that. I'll go look at that set in person and see how I feel about it working. I just really don't want to ---- the threads in the head up getting it out.

I've used extractors like that a lot and have always had good luck with them.
Found mine in a bargain tool bin at a gas station for $5. Best 5 bucks I've spent.

Extractors FTW! I used them on my old honda when the brass BSPT adapter for the oil feed snapped off in the back of the block. 1 extractor and 5 minutes took it right out.

Find a drill bit just hair smaller then the section broken off. Drill it out and then usually the rest can be backed out after some material has been taken out. I usually use a philips and kinda tap it in and then it's got something to hold onto. Not too much cause there shouldn't be that much material after you drilled it out. It's also worked for me. Oh and spray that fucker down. Hell I'd say just try tapping a philips in there now. Don't even drill anything out and give it a whirl. Maybe a impact driver if you have one. That doesn't look all too bad. Maybe even finding a small screw and threading it into and then try backing the screw out and the rest may even come out with the screw.

easy out should be your best bet. make sure its in there good to begin with, you ---- it up once, it gets a lot harder on the second try

Right thats why I didn't just jump in with the wrong tools and ---- it up. It broke just as I was getting it tight so I don't feel getting it out will be easy. An extractor should pull it out clean though there's plenty of meat for it to work with.

An extractor or if you are feeling ghetto, a sharp chisel and a hammer. Use the chisel to dig into the broken off bit, then tap it round with the hammer.

Extractors are for ballers.

go buy a left hand drill - bigger than the hole, put drill in reverse, and real slow spindle speed.
done.

Yup it's out. My neighbor let me borrow his extractor set! Pretty awesome it's out and took like two seconds.

https://publish.hometown.aol.com/dwm.../extractor.jpg

it was pretty much loose and sitting in there. The idea of tapping a screwdriver into it and turning it out would have worked in this case.
