how does honda break in thier engines
Just as the title says does honda break in engines anymore or do they put them together and you can just beat the ---- out of them and everything will break in that way. Very curious on how this works because we were talking about how you should break in engines. And how they are broken in in the factory. I know the tune is good and everything these days does that mean you dont have to break new cars in anymore. very curious thanks

Re: how does honda break in thier engines
severe clutch drops. You'd be surprised by the holding capacity of a oem pressure plate.

Re: how does honda break in thier engines
I don't know that they do. I worked at a Toyota plant here where they make V8s for tundras, and they don't break those in. They test a few out of every run, but they don't break them in. I've heard that newer motors don't need to be broken in since they're so precise, but who knows. I don't buy new cars.

Re: how does honda break in thier engines
usually in the manual it will say not to "race" the engine above 3000 rpms for the first 600 miles. at least for new hondas... (03 civic, 04 odyssey).
