pull up ebrake and hold the button down, start to slip the clutch until it starts to grab slightly to take any slack out of the drivetrain. rev it to desired RPM for launch while still slightly slipping and then dump the clutch and the ebrake handle at the same time.

i didnt even think about that, sounds like it'll work. maybe i'll give that a shot

You have your ebrake on just to keep yourself stationary. The preloading is setting all your tranny gears and axles up for the force they are about to take. Imagine puching a brick wall from a foot away, you can get quite a impact, thats no preload.. Now try punching the wall when your fist is already touching it, thats preload
