how do you identify a dart block
 
Some guy has a block he says s a dart block and he wants to trade for a sohc turbo kit. He says the block says "B18BT". What should i look for to tell if its a real dart block

a receipt...

arent the wall thicknesses increased on those? Not sure if its to a degree that is measurable with common tools though. And what are main bearing caps made out of on the block your looking at?

you can just definatly tell by looking at them.. The casting just looks alot different

Don't these blocks go for like 2g's alone? After reading this how is getting your stock block sleeved not sound like a better and cheaper option compared to the Dart block. I wonder what they consider high HP numbers?
"they were never designed for operation in the extreme HP and RPM ranges enthusiasts are pushing today." Taken straight from Endyn's site and his thoughts on it.

because sleeves are garbage

Yep. I believe the current castings have the Dart name cast right into them, so there is no mistaking them.

Even if it didn't, if you are just buying the block, the closed deck gives it away.

went and seen it, just had a block gaurd... what a waste of time
