How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

Does anyone know where is a good place to mount the 2 shoulder straps of a four point seat belt harness in a crx?

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

just duct tape that ---- to the roof, or the back of the seat. 4point harness+no roll cage+roll over=death. the harness won't let you move when the roof crushes your ass. But how many times are people going to roll civics?

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

Do you have a roll cage, or the back seats taken out? You'll either want to attach to the roll cage or the back seat seatbelt mounts.

hey mr. 69 ------- posts, you don't call kyle, master of all, a jackass.

http://www.crxsi.com/resources/forum/html/995745967.htm

maybe this guy knows:
http://www.crxsi.com/resources/forum/html/999905904.htm

so you need a 4point harness?:

maybe odale ricebody knows:
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/431556

ask other odale ricebody where he bolted his ---- down:
http://gallery.consumerreview.com/ca...s/CyberCrX.asp

google didn't help me on my quest for your knowledge. Just bolt that ---- to the floor right behind your seat, or if you have a roll bar bolt it to that ----, JACKASS!!!!!

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

No, no rollcage. They are being installed simply for the looks. I don't think there are any holes in the back that are threaded for seat belts since crx's don't have back seats. I was thinking about drilling new holes allmost close to the floor behind the seats and using fender washers, then nutting the bolt on the outside of the car and using black strip caulk to seal it and keep water out. Is it a bad spot to bolt them down? I mean do you want the shoulder harnesses to be mounted above a certain point?

are you serious that there aren't any threaded holes behing the seats? how the hell am I supposed to bolt up my just for looks 4 point harness? do you really care if you can't bolt it below a certain point if this isn't an autocross car?

It sounds like you already know what your gonna do. Just for looks? If it's just for looks than why would you even care if it's safe? It's just for looks. ::)

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

there's an odale ricer in my town with a crx and a 4 point that's probably just for looks, he never wears his seatbelt anyways, I don't know why he bothered.

Hey you started it. I came here for help and you flamed me. If you were mature enough you wouldn't have started it, so I had to stoop to your level.

I don't moderate this forum. :P

You asked how to do something, and we told you. You came back with what seems like you know what your doing, and told us it's just for looks. Kyle showed you that with a simple google search you can find almost anything you ever wanted to, go do it. If you were seriously concerned with safety that's one thing, but nobody likes to give advice and help to someone who's doing it "just for looks". What else would you like help with before this worthless topic goes any further?

Of course I'm concern about saftey. and he answered my question while I was in the process of that post. Yeah a simple google search is good too but is that what you want us to do now is use google and not your forums anymore? I'm sorry I even asked now.

kamikaze, check yourself. theres no bad mouthing the elder members oif this site. unless your car runs 10s you dont need a 4 pt harness. a question like that should be best answered in the ricer forum on superhonda.com or some ----. please dont litter our general discussion forum with your ------- show harness questions. please post pics of your motor and setup ......oh wait, i need a harness cause my stock d15b7 with a jdm intook is just too powerful

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

Hi, I didn't intend to make enemies, but there was no need for a post like Kyle's. A post like Stealthmode's was more helpful. I came here looking for answers. I know it might seem like I new what I was doing allready, but I just wanted to see how other people might have done their's. The reason I said just for looks, is cause I had to replace the seats in my crx cuase they were being held together with duck tape when I recently bought the car and they really stunk. I replaced the seats with racing seats, so It looked funny with the two holes in the seat not being used. That is why I bought the 4 point harness. Another reason is that I'm going to fix it up and sell it now to pay off some loans, so you see that the look will mean a lot to the buyer. My dx crx has been converted to a MPFI and Is turbo charged with a t3 and a starion front mount intercooler, all fabricating, welding and converting were done by myself. So it's not just a jdm intake anymore. So I hope you will not hate me for bad mouthing him. I figured I'll go to my HMT boys for some advice. It really hurts :'( when you ask someone a question and they rip on you for not knowing things.

Thanks all,

Sincerly Sorry Kyle

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

the easiest way to use these belts is to have racing seats installed which help make ur car lighter,

on the other hand the stupid harness is a pain to get in and out of and u have to readjust the straps every second day because they get loose.

if u dont have the seats for them i suggest u sell them.

Kamikaze 03-14-2004 01:13 PM

Re:How do I mount 4 point seat belt harness?

Yes the seats are installed allready. You might of missed it but I said they were replaced with racing seats in the post above Ravage70. Yeah I can see they do look kinda like a hassel, but I didn't know they were that much of a pain. Thanks for the info.
