How do I get back at a shady eBay seller??

I know this is totally minor, but it totally pisses me off for some reason >:(

I bought a "bar and plate" intercooler off eBay a number of weeks ago. This is the picture from the auction:

https://images.channeladvisor.com/Se...IC1-XS-JDM.jpg

A week later I got a package, opened it up, and found this:

https://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a...tures/FMIC.jpg

Definately not the intercooler that I ordered. This one is way bigger, and has a tube and fin core, not a bar and plate.

So I email the seller with this email:

Hello,

I received my intercooler yesterday but it is the wrong one. It is not the intercooler pictured in the auction, and most importantly does not have a bar and plate core like described and pictured in the auction.

Please let me know how I can receive the correct intercooler that I ordered.

He then asked me to send a picture of the intercooler <-- not sure why?

Anyways, so I sent a picture and get this reply:

I don't understand what you means by different.
From what i see, it is totally the same.

So I sent him another email asking him to look closer and listing the differences in dimensions, I even sent him a link to an article highlighting the differences between a tube and fin and bar and plate core!

A few day later I got another email:

Dear Customer,

Could you provide a picture of the item that you received so we can verifiy this? It may have been a mistake on the shipping team.

Haha... I don't know why he asked for a picture again, but I went ahead and sent another one. At the same time I also started a Paypal claim, letting him know that I would gladly ship the intecooler back to him, but on his dime. I'm not going to pay shipping on something that wasn't my fault in the first place.

He then told me that I would have to pay for return shipping to them, and THEN shipping again on another intercooler. Which would have been over $50.

So I decided to keep the intercooler and make it work, but not before I left him negative feedback on eBay. The feedback I left for him:

Different than pictured. Different size and NOT bar and plate, BEWARE! Shady!!

Then last night he left me this feedback:

Request for pic, no reply, plz check return policy/contact cs 4 info on return!!

Which is a blatant lie. >:( He then sends me a request to mutually withdraw the feedback. lol

I also got an email from eBay telling me that he requested my contact information... I don't know why.

Anyways, so is there anything I can do to mess with this guy? He's a blatant lier and now I have negative feedback because of it. I have all of his contact information including his email and phone number. Until this, I had perfect feedback on eBay. I realize it's not that big of deal, but still, it bugs me because this guy is knows he lied and there's nothing I can do about it... or is there?

Is this my fault? Should I just let it go? (probably). Maybe I just needed to vent.

**Clifs for you lazy bastards**

- Bought intercooler
- Recieved wrong one
- Seller wanted me to pay to exchange
- Seller left me negative feedback
- What to do?

Refute the negative feedback, file a claim with paypal. I hate bastard ass ebay sellers like that.

For instance:

I know this isnt anything huge... I wasnt even planning on using the filter for more than a week anyways, but..

bought a MAF adapter + filter for like $13 on eBay. (cheaper than just getting an adapter from most places)...

I left this picture as feedback:

I didnt care much, just the fact that they continually lied to me about it then when I got it I was just like screw it...

Oh, and I used the filter for 3 days before it literally fell apart. ^-^

How do I refute the negative feedback?

I filed a paypal claim but paypal closed the case saying that they would refund the payment if I shipped it back AT MY EXPENSE. I didn't know that paypal could do that, but I suppose they can. Because I refused to ship it back at my expense they closed the case.

How do you leave a picture as feedback?

I'm not exactly sure. Try taking a peek into eBay's FAQ section, they might have something..

That's shitty w/ paypal, I guess they figure if you get a similar product you should be happy? Imagine paying for an sc61 and getting a 14b, I bet you they wouldnt care since both are turbos...

What I did is upload the picture to imageshack, then posted the address (minus http and www) and said "<--- look at this, horrible seller etc etc"

Just looked...

However, a belief that a comment is untrue, undeserved, or left in retaliation, is not one of the criteria for removal. We can't remove the feedback based on these reasons because of two fundamental components of the eBay feedback system.

*First, the system is a member-to-member system and all comments in the Feedback Forum are based on each member's perception of the trading experience. Members are responsible for their own words.
*Second, eBay cannot evaluate every feedback for accuracy or fairness. If we began to review and potentially remove feedback comments for these reasons, the removals would be based on our opinion. However, because we were not involved in the transaction, we are not able to form an accurate opinion about who is right and who is wrong.
What a bunch of BS :3

I just saw that as well.

I also saw that they will remove any feedback that appears to contain a link. So your picture that you left as feedback before, probably got removed.

Doesn't seem fair to me that a shady seller can pull this kind of stuff and get away with it.

It's pretty clever when you think about it. The only other action I could take would be legal action, which is obviously not worth it. It would be an easy case though, because when a seller posts a picture, they create an express warranty, and if the buyer receives something different, they are entitled to a refund. I'm 100% sure that that is the law.

I just don't care enough to file a suit. The intercooler will still work. But I want to mess with this guy. lol

My feedback was never removed actually. Still there from Jan of '06.

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...&iid=-1&de=off

http://img285.imageshack.us/img285/1293/feedbackyh7.jpg

and even if you didnt want to post it as imageshack, use tinyurl.com

http://tinyurl.com/yffcdo

^ click that and see what happens :)... you could even pull off the http and say "copy and paste"... nice thing about images is that you can write as much as you want

and i bought from dynasty auto.. bad seller.. he has 1000+ feedbacks "mutually withdrawn" because of the same reasons I bet :-\... I didnt leave negative feedback just for the pure reason i didnt want it on mine. I did leave neutral though.

Sorry to hear that man, As of late I have purposly not bought anything off ebay that had the words "JDM, GT, STAGE IIIV" and when the pics look identicle to each item....EBay is full of cheap Chinese crap with people that buy in bulk to make a buck.....Hell in most cases the larger the feedback, the more I stay away...
