How did you guys adapted your filters ?
Not sure which thread to put this in but I've asked this before but no one gave me a answer. I have three AEM K&N filters all three have the standard 2 1/2" Diameter I believe. But most HMT's only have like a 1 1/2- 1 3/4 " diameter. TD04's have a 1 3/4" diameter am I wrong cause the guys I know at a muffler shop says if the turbo inlet diameter is at the very smallest 1 7/8's he could flange that to adapted 1 7/8's to 2 1/2 ? So how do you guys adapted those big filters I've seen in the turbo projects section. The pictures aren't too clean or really show what you did. I've e-mail some members ( I've left the mod.'s alone ;D ) of who's pic.'s they show of their turbo set-up but no replies yet. Thanks this would really help me out since I really don't want to have to go out and buy a new K&N filter that has a 1 1/2 " Diameter.

click on that.. I think you have to have it open in another window because geocities is gay. But that's a K&N off a banshee with a 3" inlet.. yes 3". And that's connected to a 2" pipe. I used a coupler from lowes that just takes up space and put a 2.5" pipe on that and then put the filter on. Just fill in the gaps :) EDIT: dang, just go here: http://www.geocities.com/siturborex/completed.htm |
Re:How did you guys adapted your filters ?
I USed a couple from home depot that conected the 3inch filter to the 2 inch inlet on the turbo.4 bux and it works nice
