Re: HOW TO CLEAN A TURBO??
I took the compressor housing off (like 6 bolts) and stuck it in a parts washer. did the trick just fine. Also, you could just get a few cans of brake cleaner from the dollar store and blast the ---- out of it. Do it in a container of some sort that would retain the cleaner so you can re-use it. Im sure a tooth brush would help as well. BTW, once you clean it...and it heats up the first few times, the fuker is gonna smoke like hell. dont worry about it.
first got it... http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg after I cleaned it... http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg |
Re: HOW TO CLEAN A TURBO??
carb/brake cleaner and a toothbrush. Works magic.
I bet muriatic acid would work well to clean a housing, as someone mentioned above. |
Re: HOW TO CLEAN A TURBO??
soak with simple green + pressure washer (cover up the inlets/outlets obviously)

Re: HOW TO CLEAN A TURBO??
unbolt the housing, put it in some really warm water with any solvent or soap, keep it soaked and add hot water a few times throughout the day. Works like a charm.
