You know I will say this, it is nice to see that in a forum that can be so cynical (sp?) sometimes, everybody that replied was pretty much trying to be helpful and did not poke fun at this guy, even though he laid it all out there. Nice job guys, keep the positve comments coming!

Sounds like you have a lot on your chest that you need to get off...to someone who will actually listen to you and provide wise advice, rather than a joint.

Everyone goes through ups and downs...some of us more drastic than others. I'd be lieing if I said I've been a hppy little girl all my life...but I have a lot of anger, hurt, sadness, pain etc inside from probably about 11 years ago. I'd suggest (as many others already have) to go see a psychologist. Tell then exactly what you've just told us, and go from there. I've been to one a couple times...but I'm my own worst problem...I know seeing someone would help, but I don't like revealing the deep down hurt inside to a stranger. So, when the time is right, and when I find someone I can feel comfortable with and trust, I'll start going again.

Anyways, good luck to you...hope things get better for you too. There are those of us who do know what you're going through.

I've dated a ton of fruitcake girls (my need to 'feel' needed by another i gues draws them to me ) so I have dealt with a few who had clinical depression

the first step is really figuring it out (sometimes this is the hardest) and from there it should hopefully get much easier

My take is that the body is a very magical thing...put the right stuff in and you can control just about any levels of chemicals in the brain. Drugs are an easy way out...do a some net reading on what foods elevate your seratonin levels. Chicken and bananas are two that I remember but there are tons out there. There are many reported cases of severly depressed/psychotic people who controlled ALL of there symptoms through diet and other natural methods. They say you are what you eat.

Also, someone else mentioned going to a chiropractor...not directly for the thread starter but I will mention it. I work for a chiropractic organization and I have had the opportunity to be highly educated. I recommend going to chiropractor regularly and not to one of those "Get your back pain fixed here" places. Find a wellness based chiropractor, tell him/her all of your symptoms, ask their advice on nutrition (they are highly trained on this) and have them align your nervous system.

The nervous system is the master system and controller of the body. EVERYTHING that you experience in life travels through your nervous in or out. If there is something wrong with the pathways in your nervous system, it can break down and make mistakes. When its aligned properly, everything flows nicely and the body doesnt make mistakes.

Its not a cure for everyone but it works wonders for many of the people that learn about it and become regular chiropractic patients...best of all, its completely safe.

I used to get regular seasonal depression in the winter...no longer.

If anyone happens to need a recommendation on a local chiropractor, PM me and I'll get you some names and numbers, we have a database of about 5000 at my work.

If you have dealt with depression your whole life you have a major problem something I finally dealt with myself in the last 6 months. If your just down right now it's just becasue things arent workin out. Basic things to keep you goin is to attempt to get normal sleep, eat full meals, and exercise. Very basic ways that help typical bein down.

I can only assume that it is a temporary punishment, we all know HMT would not be the same without roidboy

I've seen counselors n ---- when I was younger, and I would say for the most part that it was very helpful. An unbiased third party there that is there to listen to you and offer logical opinions and suggestions is very useful.

booze seems to help now. jk

Damn that ---- is crazy and sucks man.

Honestly the way I think is, I control me. There is no destiny, just me. You can choose to be depressed or you could not.

Like recently I broke up with my girl, great girl, made a thread about her, but I'm not depressed or mourning or whatever over her and it's only been like 2 days. I was done being sad 'n ---- as soon as I brought her home. Some people talk about it for months *cough*sslk*cough* and cry and bitch.

---- that, do it up. Don't do it for no one but yourself. You control you and no one else can. SO make it your mission to go out and do something. SOme people ask for god for guidance, I say ask yourself if you want it, if you do go and get it.
