Default How to break out of depression?

I'm not trying to bitch and moan but here's the deal:

I'm anxious all the time since I left school (money issues) and I'm out of work trying to find something better than working at a gas ststion. All of my "friends" seem to think I'm a joke, I never get anything other than ---- from them, they're all druggies anyway and I've been geting into the drugs lately but they don't work. Instead of getting high and chilling out, I get depressed about being back in my home town cause I swore never to come back. But thses are the only people that I know, and I haven't made a friend or acquaintance in the past 4 years. Even at school I'm alone.
Most people say they're "alone" or "lonely" but I'm beginning to think that I'm antisocial. Going to bars freaks me out, I don't know how to approach people, too insecure or whatever, I just don't get any enjoyment with drinking myself stupid around a bunch of strangers and trying to act like I'm interested in some bitch asking me where I'm from. Lately I've been feeling totally ------- useless/worthless and everything I see in life and in other people is either related to money or drugs or having bullshit conversations about nothing to pass the time; and I don't care. I want to ------- scream in everyone's face that I'm not ------- interested in what they think about the next person or whatever bullshit falls out of their mouths because not a damn person in the room is doing anything with their lives and here I am again in the only company that I've known; the drug users and *****, the only people that have atleast pretended to have an interest in me; but the only thing I am to these people is another head on the ball. WHAT THE ---- DOES IT TAKE TO BE NORMAL? what am I missing that makes everyone else atleast comfortable with their daily lives, maybe even comfortable enough to make new friends?

Just kill yourself.

Drugs are bad. Stop doing them and stop hanging out with shitbags that do them. ***** are ok though.

You have mental issues that you need to deal with, maybe see a doctor about. They make pills for everything these days.

Sounds like you might have a few of the following: manic depression, anthropophobia, demophobia, social anxiety disorder and a plain social phobia. You should seek a doctor's help immediately man, but I'm warning you.. he's going to want to give you medications or enroll you in a specific form of psychotherapy called cognitive-behavioral therapy more than likely.

this may sound stupid but i just wrote a paper on the book, "THe power of intention" by Wayne Dyer. It was probably one of the most interesting books i have ever read in my life. The one thing i remember most from that book is this quote. "We usually get what we expect in life, so always expect the best." it seems to me like youre not giving yourself a chance to try new things. Do yourself a favor and change your mind set on things. it may sounds stupid but it works

Doc's right man, they make pills for everything. I get depressed some times cause I am in constant pain and sometimes I feel kinda anxious about ----, but I guess that is life. I will not take pain meds for the fear of becoming addicted, so until my ---- starts to affect others, I just deal with it in my own way. The only bad thing that I can see in seeking professional help, is that you may be labeled a head case, but who the ---- cares if you can regain a balance in life and be happy.

Did you sustain an injury, and not able to work? Is that why you're depressed? Trust me, I've been on pain meds a few times, they are "addicting" but you can kick it easily.

yeah dude, you really should talk to a doctor, i gurantee he can have you feeling better in no time. i slipped in to a deep depression a few years ago when i quit doing drugs (coke, weed, x, acid, h, meth, etc.), i did everything, a lot, but still had a nice life and money, so never really considered it a drug problem when i quit, i had already fucked up all my seritonin and all that ---- in my brain. i thought i was going crazy and thought it was all in my head and that i just needed to 'snap out of it', well, after not sleeping for two weeks, i would lay in bed and fake sleep so my room mates wouldn't think i was a tweeker, i really played it off good, but just lost it one night and went in and woke my room mate up and told him to submit me to a mental institution, well, it wasn't quite as bad as i though, and i was feeling semi normal in just a few weeks with some medication. moral of the story, yes, it sounds like you have a problem, go to a doctor and get your life back on track, it doesn't mean your weak, you can not control your brain, no matter how hard you try, and no one could ever understand unless they've been through it, or they are a doctor.

If your asking me, I have several different problems that cause my pain. I have a herniated disc (C7-T1), both of my knees are affected by petellar femoral tracking syndrome meaning that my knee caps do not glide where they are suppossed to and the cartilage on the backside of them is tore up. And in the last year, I have torn carilage in my right wrist twice and my left once. I think my neck causes the most pain and it can affect other aspects of the body. I think if you don't get addicted to pills, you don't have to worry about kicking them Oh and if your were not asking me...oops, sorry, lol.
