honest opinion needed....
Heres the deal. I need honest opinions on this one.
I just sold my levin for the civic. I sold the levin with the clutch project not finished. The only thing left to do was bleed the clutch line. The guy bought it with that understanding. As soon as he bought the car he took it to the shop where I was working on the levin at...(and the people were helping me put it back together) and they tell him the entire thing is fucked up, the tranny is no good/was never good in the first place, the car is just 100% fucked up. They tell him $1000 to get it back together/right.
-He takes it to another garage they tell him the same thing, only $700 to get fixed.
My thinking...I honestly dont know how it could have been messed up so bad the tranny is bad. The tranny worked perfectly, no grinds, no problems one bit before I started the project. I have no idea how I could have messed it up that bad.
I sold him the car with the understanding it wasnt drivable, and the clutch line needs to be bled. Now he says and "his mechanic" says its gonna take $700 to get fixed.
Hes comming at me to have it fixed for him....what would you do?
Add one more thing...he never once looked at the car until AFTER the title had been put in his name, after I invited him many times to look at it.

Yes, oil is in the tranny. ams-oil to. I put that in it when I thought I was keeping the car.
and yes...Karma is a bitch.
I bought the civic with the impression that it needed new brake pads. Both back calipers are sceized, the pistons wont go back in...and long story short, both are gonna need to be replaced to include the rotors/lines, everything.

Re: honest opinion needed....
id say it depends on how much you sold him the car... if u sold him the car well underblue book, to the point that he could pay to get it fixed.. and still have bought it for underblue book.. than your ok...
it was just a simple missunderstanding you had.. show him you meant well i guess... i would take the car back.. and refund him his money...
or do a partial refund... to help cover the cost of the repair..
i bought a civic wagon for 500 bucks, thinking it just needed a tune up, new tires, pads, and rotors....
so i buy the car.. 200 bucks for 4 brand new winter tires.. 300 bucks for tune up, and new rotors and pads all arround... 250 dollars for insurance. 100 for regestration and plates... i drove the car for less than 2 weeks.. , and the tranny went out.. i take it back to the guy.. and he says tough ----.. even tho he told me the tranny was ok.. so now im ---- out of luck.. its a take or get taken from world..
long story short...
even tho i got fucked... i wouldnt do it to someone else.. i would treat the person the same way i would have wanted him to treat me... if i was in there situation.. ofcourse.. if the parts in the car are worth alot more money thank what you sold it to him for.. then that would make it alot easier for me to tell him to ---- off

I sold him the car with my 100% honest opinion. Now of corse there is alot more to it.
My thinking is...its his. He bought it knowing he couldnt drive it right away, I hadnt drivin the car since its been apart, he never looked at the car once, nothing.
Now he says he wants his money back. Im afraid hes gonna take me to legal over it.
My concious says help him fix it. My consious also says ---- him. He bought the car not looking at it, not running 100% fine, he bought it not being able to test drive it...he learned a lesson.
I also bought a car thats fucked up that I thought was fine. Should I go back and ask the guy for my money back?
and buk9tp, there is no KBB here. a car is worth as much as the person asking to sell it.
-that also means a heavily modified car will bring what its worth here. a skyline thats stock will sell for a few grand. that same skyline that now is a 600hp 10sec monster will sell for 10g's.
