honda hood hinge mod

ricer w/e idc

other than having your hood fly open on the freeway.. how can you get a hood to open 100% so it goes all the way back and rests on the windshield?

Re: honda hood hinge mod

There is 2 10mm nuts 1 on eachside of the hood. They are under the rubber part of the cowl near the hinge

Take those out with the tabs that they hold down

Is this on your CRX?

Re: honda hood hinge mod

I drilled a 1/2'' hole about 1 inch below the factory hood prop hole so the hood opens up more.

the only time that it is ever necessary to open a hood that far you should probably just take it off anyway...

yeah after I got the windshield replaced I've been ---- about letting people raise my hood that high again.
If you do that ---- watch where it hits, mine is 2 points on the edge of the windshield. Just screams a gust of wind is going to chip then crack your $200 windshield.

If you simply open your hood and watch the hinges you will see what the guys above are talking about removing. It's pretty self explainatory I'm sure you'll kick yourself for making a thread before you looked at it. I want to fix mine to protect the windshield some day when I'm not lazy.

After you do that stuff you can use the smaller hole that is down and to the left of where the old (bang your head height) hood prop goes

EDIT: Like this
