I had one but traded it in for a bigger Awd Honda CRV. I miss the has mileage. Went from indiana to jackson ville florida about this time last year on my honeymoon. With the car packed with luggage and ac on we managed to get 39 miles to the gallon average. And the payment each month was only $318 for 5 years. Throw some 17in rim s and tein springs. And they are ok and dont effect gas. Yeah springs had nothing to do with it.

I would think it'd be good for a DD. Spacious, light, good mileage. Personally I'd still choose an older Honda shitbox over it, but that's me.

Pretty much.

I know a guy trying to sell his ~06-07 because the $300/month car payment != efficiency.

There is a reason I'm slinging a new drivetrain into my 305K mile 89 DX. Put an Eibach Pro-kit with spacered GR2s under it and it'll be sweet.

two of my friends has it and i have driven both, they are both automatic.
1)very nimble handling, has 195 tires but still very stable in the freeway
2)on a hot day , the A/C is not cool enough coz its too roomy and has too many windows, you might need to get them tinted to keep it cool inside
3)stiff suspension that BOUNCES a little too much
4)crap power around town, my D15B has way more power down low
5)enough power to keep up with 80-90 mph traffic, but need some reving when you enter the freeway
6)alright braking
7)Most importantly it has CRAP MPG, both car gets 27 ish mpg with mixed driving and I`ve already hear it from HT, may be it is just the automatics.

For the same amount of $ I`d buy a 08 xb 5 speed. slighly worst mpg, bigger engine, cooler a/c but def.ly not as good of a handler

Buy a used golf tdi if you are looking for better mpg. I have an auto one and stock it is getting 53mpg on the highway but with some work I could get it up to 60.
