Default Homemade GSXR Exhaust

The first time I found out my bike had a cat on it I wanted to chop it off. So I finally got around to doing it. Here's the stock exhaust and cat:

Jig'd up and cut:

And finally mounted on the bike:

Definitely sounds a million times better. It actually has a sound instead of like a corked up motor ready to explode. I also took 10lbs off the bike and saved $500 from buying an aftermarket slipon that gives the same performance gains. I really liked the look of the stock pipe so I'm glad I don't need to get a gay looking slip on. Also since I sold the cat to the scrapyard for $20.00 I actually got paid to do this. There's also nothing like a homemade exhaust.

That is all.

Slipon's only gain like 3 to 5 Hp so I think any gains are in your head since its tough to tell. However it did seem to smooth out the thottle more and it does seem a little quicker. Definitely better than stock hands down

did you gut the exhaust or just get rid of the cat?
and you know that it's running really lean now and will burn itself up if you don't put a dynojet programer on it to ritchen it up
and with a slipon and velocity stacks i have seen dyno proven 10+whp but that was with someone doing a dyno tune no just a programer

why would it be "running really lean now and will burn itself up" cause it has SOOOOO much more flow that its MAJORLY increased VE, and since its a map based system (i'm guessing) its all ouf of whack and SUPER lean... seriously? ---- no, stock tuning is probably a tad rich anyways, its not gonna hurt anything running without re-tuning with JUST taking a cat off. I've been here for ~2 years and know better than to give an OG advice about some ---- i have no experience with. and wow, you've seen it add 10hp, who cares? thats probably more due to the velocity stacks than anything... didn't you hear me last time:
GO ------ DIAF
*edit, i guess that cornfuzed is right to a degree, that an exhaust will modify VE enough that it might warrant getting a PCIII, i see from whitey's sig that its a GSXR750, but i guess you can do without, but i think his $20 savings will be depleted if he buys a $270 PCIII, honda run all the time with crazy VE changes.*
