holy shit! GM lost some money

I have just found out by my friend's dad that works on the railways here that a train carring hundreds of new 2005 GTOs has crashed in Blairsburg, Iowa (just outside of Cedar Rapids). Hundreds of brand new GTOs in transit from California have been damaged or destoryed. As a part of the clean up, some of the GTOs may sold at highly discounted prices, and some are being parted out because of their damage by local citizens helping with cleanup, I will let you guys now of more information. Attached are some pictures of the accident scene. -- I have high resolution pix that I may post else where so you guys can see the extent of the damage.

GM lost money? Do you really think they ship those things without some sort of insurance?

In the wild wild west, right down where Kyle lives, trains still get robbed. During my 5 months living in Sunland Park NM, there were two train robberies, and beleive it or not, brand new cars have had a funny way of showing up in Juarez Mexico a few days after trains get robbed.

Re: holy shit! GM lost some money

pictures really dont do them any justice. the dealership in town here has one. the ones with these wheels are pretty sharp looking cars.

remember this car is not supposed be a racer just a grunty cruiser, much like the old GTOs

what grand prix are you talking about. this is a 03. there is always going to be some small similities in lots of cars made by the same company.

Damn that sucks. I really like the styling on those, and wouldn't mind having one at all. Imagine being in that town and piecing one together for cheap.

I really liked GTO's until I raced one one evening. This isn't very good video, but you get the idea how race after race went. When the guy pulled over, his jaw fell on the floor. He was a pretty cool guy, but said he was having no luck that night, he had been taken by about 7-8 car lengths by a STI swapped subie and then I pummeled his ass time after time. ;D

That's not a bad vid.

Yeah, they GTO is a heavier version of an F body, without the solid rear end. I like them though, the LS2 is a bad ass engine.

The gto has been made for years in australia. Its a holdens monaro or something. If you even look at the dash its set up for right hand drive the radio controls and everything are easier for the passenger to use than the driver all the did is switch the steering wheel over. They have a version of this car in australia with a 427 its sick

That really isn't a bad looking car. I could see buying the wife something like that when we're 40. :D

Something about the front bumper needs to change though. The way all that middle is black it looks like its just not there.

Oh, and Random, when you start calling cars "sharp", I picture you as a Willie Nelson look alike. ;D
