Stats of the virus:
Sends itself to email addresses found on the infected computer
Forges the sender's email address
Uses its own emailing engine
Reduces system security
Installs itself in the Registry

Re: HMT webmaster imposter sending virus through email

thats not the fault of hmt, someone has a virus and this virus finds email suffixes, ie. @hmt.com, and sends emails to peopl on thier list

yahoo caught it and wouldn't let it download anyways but still told me it had a virus attached. I never said it was HMT's fault either i said it was an imposter...which it is technically

yeah accounts dont really have to exist.

back when I was a nerd I used to email people from whatever email address seemed funny at the time.

ie... admin@microsoft.com, georgebush@whitehouse.gov its simple really, any unix machine, set the domain to whatever you want it to be, and make a user account to play with
