I just do not like the fact that if I got one, I will have to spend time defending the ------- dog because of the rap they have. ---- that. Its just like Buying a Saturn, everyone knows its cheap ----, and you find yourself defending the thing all day.

Just so you know, October 20th is Pit Bull Awareness Day. There are events going on all over the country. People ask why we would even own these dogs and put up with the crap. If you go to one of these events, you will know why.

I think some of the bully dogs look very good! I have friends with them and enjoy playing with the dogs too, so I'm not saying "dont get one", althought you already have one haha

I honestly think its all about predigree, most backyard breeders are producing ill tempermented dogs for a little extra cash b/c they are blue or whatnot. litters that are produced by dogs that have been tested by means of personal pertection, french ring, weight pulling competition and so forth demonstrait that they are tempermentally stable enough to withstand the stress and obedience involved, and generally those traits will be passed on.
Most people who have dogs that they think are "protective" because they display some sort of aggression at the mailman or stranger when no apparent threat is present are dogs with whats called "weak nerves." In the dogs mind, they are actually displaying aggression because they are scared. American Bulldogs are generally used in personal protection training, and most PP trained dog owners will say that a dog with nerves of steel should act like a normal happy dog untill there is a real threat present. Basicly, the dog is confident he can handle any situation so he don't need to front like hes packin... :P
