Default The HMT A-team Van NW style... (RIP)

Well tonight was a day that has been planned out for some time. I have owned this 84 Ford Econoline for 4 years now, its been a great tow rig, has stored lots of my engine parts and I had very little money in it. However, its a very sour sight for the eyes, and it has been getting really thrashed over the years. I've hit various stop signs, shopping carts, mailboxes with this thing.. its ridiciouls. Tonight, me and Dustin (turbohf) headed up to the Northend Bellingham to visit Dave (leed) and Steve (88dx) (Omar also joined us)

As I arrived at Daves apartment complex we quickly got the sawzalls out ready for action

I jumped the gun and broke 3 blades in a matter of minutes. The goal was to cut the entire thing off and make it a convertable.

However, we changed our minds and decided to cut the entire sides off and keep the room, which ended up being way better.

You can only imagne the noise we were making 2 sawzalls 1/4 panel deep... it was a beautiful sight. Neighbors laughed and suprisingly nobody said anything.

I forgot there was a rear heater core, and accidently went through the lines when cutting. :P

We then decided to go with a full on A-team paint scheme, using all high quality lowes home latex paint with rollers and everything. It was a very nice touch. Black Body, Red stripes, and gold wheels.

The Pass side had a really nice clean cut, and looked pretty badass, The driverside.... we ran out of blades and just left it.

The plan was to take it back to this gravel pit where nobody goes and ---- it up and leave it there. On the way there I was getting a bit excitied and took a detour, We got stuck pretty bad, and if it wasnt for steves stock honda scissor jack and my P2E ecu, theres no way we would have gotten out.

As you can see we had some camber issues.

The driverside rear needed to be removed, so we wrapped a tow strap/cable around the section and steve ripped it out in his dads civic. This was probably the funniest parts of the whole trip, and the video will be hilarious.

I must say, it was a beautiful sight..

Took a few Shmidtys to take the edge off.

What was amazing, even though the entire side panels were ripped off, the bed, the mood lights, the stereo all still worked perfectly.

Ready to Roll

After we finally made it to the gravel pit, it wasnt long before we blew a rear tire. We made only 1 semi decent jump which then caused the engine to overheat, so we just stuck a rock on the gas pedel and let her seize up.

Obviously this van wasnt coming back home with me, so... we ------ some gas all over the interior.

Dave brang the AK47 and we had to have a little fun =)
